day before yesterday, i broke my bg85s on my mp99. my coach is a ashaway/blackknight rep, so i got him to string it with ashaway microlegend xl. they look pretty good and they play pretty good. anybody have some futher insights? jc
I just ordered some Micropower strings... looking forward to putting them in the new Babolat Chrono I just ordered.
I use Ashaway Microlegend (XL) strings. In my experience, they hold tension very well, so that for 1 - 2 months they will feel exactly as crisp as the first week
i use microlegend (XL) cos my club's stringer strings them for cheaper than yonex strings. i think they give good durability (1 - 2 weeks) at 25lbs. i found beter than most yonex strings
no idea - saw this in the central sports uk brochure and it said it was for high tensions with light racquets - perfick for my MP88
Not trying to change the original topic. If u try to find a cheaper alternative for BG85, I recommend Gosen BioRoots68. However, u need to pre-stretch the string, prior to string it. It takes a bit more time, but $$$ vs performance ratio is good.
I have tried MicroLegend XL strings before (at 24lbs) : crisp feel, a lot of power, look good too. How about MicroPower strings - i find them similar to microledgend XL, but in a distinctive red colour. However they are not very durable
Fast3r: thanks for the info, I'm going to try out the XL, Rally 22, and Micro Power. I've gotten mostly good feedback about the Ashaway strings. A few people I have talked to still prefer Yonex though. LazyBuddy: thanks for the recommendation, I'll have to try out the BR68 as well. So much testing to do.
I currently have ashaway strings on my raquet however i do not know ehich strings they are it doesnt say on the strings and my uncle didnt tell me i find that the ashaway strings dont hold their form i have 22 pounds on my racket and they seem to bend all over the place kinda like a tennis racket other than that they ahve a nice feel and play well
i dont use rally 22 cos my stringer said sumthin about not liking them but micropower is supposed to be just as good as microlegend (XL) except the durability
