    Default Scotland/Glasgow

I might be [hoping so much that i do get my scholarship] heading towards to Scotland to furhter my studies, maybe around this September.

One big problem is that, i don't know anything about Scotland. All i know is that Scotland is really cold. And other that than, nothing much else.

So, i am hoping that someone could help me out here [any help is appreciated, and maybe a peek at the badminton scene there]. The uni i am getting to is Uni of Strathcylde.

    Thanks in adv

    -Eddie

It has worse health outcomes than England. Your badminton should be on the higher end of the scale there.

Strathclyde Uni badminton club is the strongest uni badminton club in Scotland. They have won the Scottish league every year since 1998, and the mens team is only behind Loughborough and Birmingham in BUSA knockouts.

I don't live there any more but went to Strathclyde Uni in the 90s. I gather there are not many strong clubs around in Glasgow any more. Dill would probably know better than anyone else here.

Not sure where to begin with the guide to the whole country though!

Sorry for posting at the wrong forum. was thinking of gathering info about scotalnd and not specifically places to play badminton. So i figured that it goes to the chit-chat.

    anyways,
strongest?? wow...that puts a lot of pressure. but it would be cool to be able to train with them there. =D

Chips? french fries? freedom fries?? mmm....deep fried...

Yup, Andy is correct in that Strathclyde is the strongest in Scotland for badminton, I think it has something to do with the majority of players doing sport science courses which go hand in hand with their training to an extent.

    Badminton Scotland's site is: http://www.badmintonscotland.org.uk

where you can get a full listing of clubs in the Glasgow area.

The national badminton academy is also in Glasgow just outside the city centre.
