the classic Icuk v Swie King World Champiinship game on tape?

I'm willing to pay/trade for this one. If anyone is interested I've got various bits of matches from 87/88 including a full game between Morten/Icuk in the All England finals, and some rare snippets like Sze Yu (Aus) Verus Steve Baddley (Uk) in the commonwealth games.

I'm prepared to buy/trade with anyone from any Country.

I had it in my possesion about 15 years ago and I didn't copy it!! Am I kicking myself!!

I used to have it too until someone borrowed it and taped over it! Absolutely outstanding match with good camera angle. Also great commentary from Kevin Jolly. And Sze Yu.. in the British Airways Masters at the Royal Albert Hall ?? Might still have that one somewhere. Used to have some of the 85 Calgary finals as well. Again victim of third party overtaping! Got them from someone at Hendon BC (R.I.P.) (NW London) many moons ago. Love another copy myself. I'm still in the area so I'll see if I can track a copy down.

Oh man, you've done it now. Kevin Jolly Commentating! The guy used to train down at my local SC.
Sze Yu played at the BA masters, I went to that match, remember it fondly, also had it on tape for a while.
Man, you must be well annoyed with the guy who taped over it!
Are you still neaer Hendon? I'm near a tube station in N.London. So perhaps if one of us tracks it down we can help each other out? I'm asking around all my clubs this week.

old AE matches circa 1980-1983.,featuring Rudy Hartono. Lin Ying/Wu Dixi etc.

They've got the original 83 swie king/sugiarto match on tape but to get it a)I've got to set up a company and b)it's going to cost upwards of $500. Not very good news.

Must be talking about IBf's licensee TWI or IMG.

A lot of footage in ITN but no response.

Anyway keep looking around clubs, UK player,

worse come to worst if you don't find it in 3 months time, I can

tell you how to get it for nothing.

I actually saw some people in Uk taping Ae matches in late

70's.I wish i knew how to locate them.

If I remember correctly the copy I had was from a Channel 4 transmission on Great Sporting Matches or something. I probably got my copy 1987 or thereabouts if thats any help

Yes it was channel 4. Roger somebody or the other was another commentator. Surname "Mills"?

Derek Talbot did some great commentating on the All Englands in the late 80's, not least because of the hilarity of some of the comments.

TWI, they're a footage company based in the UK. They won't sell footage for personal use though.

The guy I had the tapes off before went back to India so no joy there.

Have you thought about getting a group of people together and hiring out a researcher to get these early tapes tracked down?
