Wilson shuttlecocks

Hi guys, have anyone tried playing with Wilson shuttlecocks?

Saw a tube selling for S$19.00 at World of Sports, speed 77

Want to get some reviews before buying them to try..

I've tried a couple of tubes of WS400, and those were pure crab. They're simply badly done, and don't last anything. Maybe the top of the line ones are better? I'd still put my money on something more reliable, eg. Victor, Fukuda, Sosan or Yonex. Though I guess since Wilson is a finnish owned brand (Amer, a big finnish sports company, purchased Wilson a few years ago) I should be saying good things about them

lol at the cc i played at, they use wilson birdie. in one day my friend and i broke 2 :P and only 2 hours of playing too

I assume that u r talking about nylon shuttles? If feather ones, 1 can last 1 hr, I will just get it, no matter what the price is.

Can you specify the model? Wilson offer different feather shuttles, range from club practice grade all the way up to IBF tourny approved.

I'll eat my playing shorts if you can make two Wilson feather shuttlecocks last 2 hours of game-type playing

. My record is 25 minutes (1,5 sets) with one Black Sosan - and that time included plenty of smashing too.

Wow, average 1 bird per hr. Are these made from feather of super goose? My record is about 30min doing baseline rally only.

maybe 15 minutes of play, followed by 45 minutes recovery time.

Are you sure? It might be 15min break for every 5 min played...

No kidding! If a feather shuttle can last 30 minutes for me, I'll buy it.

Exactly, 5 minutes is more like it. Sometimes one good (or bad) smash (depending how you hit it) will do in the shuttle.

Most of the time is you pay for what you get, rather spend on expensive birdies that can last me longer than buying cheap ones that finishes the entire tube in few games. Choose it yourself

The model on the tube reads "WS 6500 Coaching"

"1 dozen WS 6500 COACHING quality badminton shuttlecocks"

yea the word 'coaching' is in caps...

In US, I only saw Wilson WS400 and WS700 within the WS series. Not sure where WS6500 lines up in between. If that's from a reputable resource, I assume it's a special model only introduced in limited region.

Also consider what type of game (participants) u r dealing with. No offense on beginners, but no matter how durable a shuttle is, if ppl keep chop on the feather, it will break in no time.

Just thought i'd pull up this thread since i tried some Wilson shuttles recently - Wilson Tournament Gold. at 14.95 per tube, they're excellent. really durable, consistant flight and speed.

The little humidifying cap is a clever idea, and i'm glad to see that a big company like Wilson is coming in for a share of the badminton world. Since Wilson is such a large company, they should have the financial base to compete with Yonex. That will mean more competitive pricing for us badminton players:-)

Also, as the previous posts in this thread mentioned, the Wilson WS-400 and WS-700 are of a lower quality ($7 and $11 per dozen respectively). You get what you pay for.

In Finland WS-400 costs 20 € (=about 24 $), whereas Black Sosan 17 € (15,30 € if you buy 10+ tubes). Not in all countries will you get what you pay for
