As Yannie has said, Chong Wei is a well mannered young man and he addressed me in the most respectful and polite way on someone much older than himelf! At least he did not call me "Ah Pek"!

The last time I bumped into LCW was during Aviva Open Singapore 2005. He was in a great hurry to get away as he had lost his match (not the Final definitely) and was rather diffident-looking. What a huge contrast to the person I met at the MCG - a champion exuding great confidence!

On second thoughts there is NO no.6 (only joking).

But maybe my Chinese Hokkien friends can confirm that 'Ah Pek' is almost the equivalent of uncle in Hokkien, only perhaps older in age and it does confer seniority in ranking.

As for 'ko ko', to me it means elder brother in Cantonese, my mother tongue which I hardly speak nowadays.

When actually did Chong Wei go to your house to see the photo? Cos from what I knew, when they came back from CG on monday, they headed straight to Johor Bahru for the ABC 2006.

Just watched the national sports award (malaysia) a few moments ago, so decided to post it here, because I was actually kinda surprise with the result

Lee Chong Wei was crowned as the 2005 National Sportsman Award beating a few other nominees. When interviewed, he said the sweetest ever ocassion he had in 2005 was in the World Championship, although losing to Taufik in the semi.
