Should I change grip from up and down the cone if I have the time? Shorter gives more control while longer gives more power. So if I have the time, should I grip it shorter for net play and longer for back court play? Singles? Doubles?:)

If you play singles, it's easier to stay roughly in the same spot on the grip while you concentrate on movement to retrieve the shot. For doubles, it's imperative for better control/power (dependent on court position) as you have less time to do a shot.
