Take two rackets and put their covers on; then wave them bak and forth. Do this for a while and it'll help. :p

Depends on how strong is your wrist now

I was told to start with sanpping with a towel or use a badminton racquet. Then move onto a badminton racquet with a cover. Then a old wooden squash racquet and then squash racquet with a cover.

Ahhhh... I was at Golden Gate Badminton Club this weekend, and saw a guy doing excercises with a squash racket and I was wondering what he was doing. Here I was thinking, poor guy, can't afford a badminton racket... :p

Yeah, but not sure about hitting overhead strokes with shuttle as the heavy squash racquet could screw up our swing or even hurt our joints. We defend with squash racquets against light smash in our group lessons. As your wrist get stronger, maybe overhead strokes later. I have seen players at the Junior World Championship warmup by swinging squash racquets.

i dont have a squash racquet. and i dont really want to use the cover on badminton racquet method cause it'll probably weaken the shaft? just wondering

ive got less than desirable backhand power like many other people. any better method to improve on that than to keep practising long backhand clears?

I think doing an overhead with a squash racket is fine as long as you loosen up you muscles and joints after with a badminton racket so that your stroke does not go all funky.

i believe it is ok to use the squash racquet for overhead, just dont try to hit hard. basically just hit the bird without a large amount of force so that you wont hurt yourself. i had a friend who tried to swing hard with a squash racquet and eventually his hand started to hurt where he had difficulty tightening.

It helped me :) its very addictive btw.
Because of the G-force the gyro creates, it will feel heavy in your hand, which cause you to train your wrist.
I suggest you check www.powerball-europe.com out, lots of different types of powerballs, and some exercises for wrist, underarms, grip improvement, ect.

What about light weights. Does that help. Also the "springy V shaped Squeezer"? Do they work?

here's a good one for when your in the bath...

you can create a vortex i the water by waving your hand back and forth underneath the surface (you can actually manage it withi a couple of fingers too if you have the strength :) )

the trick is to avoide disturbing the water by keeping your arm still and using your wrist only.. once you have teh vortex, try to keep it going.. your forearm will soon ache..

i imagine if you got really good at this, you could do the same exercise with treacle :) - a bit messy tho... and probably pretty impossible.
