great action pics Kwun!!...finally can see the results of your hardwork..and also interesting to see pics from different angles..hmm, i'm assuming more are coming?!?!..

Hmm, your effort really shows(and to a certain extent *confirms*, at least to me) that you have the "inner talent" to be a Photographer, a professional badminton photographer to be exact..Now, we have a competitor for Mr. Raphael Sachetat(IBF official photographer) ;)  :D

yes. if i get some spare cycles, i will try to do one set per evening. it took me a while to figure out a proper sorting/processing flow. i think i have narrowed it down. i will also need to upload them to the photo gallery section.

hehe. i wouldn't call it "talent" coz i definitely have very little of it. but i think with enough passion, it can take the place of talent. it was definitely a lot of work taking photos, and now i appreciate the amount work a photo journalist / photographer need to put in. not only have to spend a whole day at the event, they also need to sort, write and then publish by the end of the day. i was sitting across Raphael and his gang in the media room, and those guys works really hard and i can tell they look more and more exhausted as the days goes on.

    Thanks for the pics Kwunny

Wah, adding photography into your CV now I see, vewwy good lah! :D

Hey Kwun, what's the max kbs that we can upload as picture attachments on each post? I was thinking how when I was taking pics at the NZ Open, the lowest resolution I have on my camera is 200kb and then it goes up to 1.2mb, then 2.0mb. It was really annoying having to take pics at 200kb as the pics aren't that clear and my zoom capaibility is minimum on my lil sony digital camera.

So I was wondering, Can I take pics with higher resolution and then somehow photo edit it later without losing the photo sharpness/quality? If this question sounds dumb, forgive me, I'm anything but clued up when it comes to technical, computer stuff..I'm just a girl who luffs badminton dang nabbit!! :p

    Well done

Well done Kwun. These are realy good shots, especially since you were not allowed to go on court.

And to reassure everyone, Kwun and I will never get to be compétitors, but rather partners, as we certainly hope to have Kwun join the BP team whenever he can. But we also have other projects in common (including some good opportunities for you guys to have quality photo prints at a special rate for BF members).

It was indeed exhausting to cover the world champs - long, very long hours on site + hours of processing after that, in order to send it all to the medias and Federations we work for at BadmintonPhoto. Jeff and Yves, who have helped me through out this week have done a great job as well.

    Talk again soon
    Raphael

    sure:

    Nikon D70
    Nikon 70-200/2.8 VR
    Nikon 1.4 TC

the 70-200/2.8 + TC really made the pictures possible. almost all of the pics are cropped and they remain pretty sharp.

i wish i have rented an even bigger lens though... ;)

hey Raphael, such honor to be complemented by the official photographer... ;)

yeah. not able to get on the courtside limited a lot of shot choices and angles. but i had to do with what was available. the result was much better than what i expected, actually.

i look forward to seeing your team's pics. i remember seeing quite a few impressive ones when i was peeking over in Yves computer!
