I play badminton only about twice a week. So its more like recreation (after work). Thus looking for shoes that fit the purpose for my level of play. Any suggestions please? Thanks.
i'm looking at economical shoes as well sub £30-35 if possible especially those avaliable in the UK, please could you give recommendations based on your experiences thanks! also what do you think of these: Wilson Motion Mens 05 http://www.centralsports.co.uk/shop.php?page=detail&product=5644 looks similar to the reebok basic indoor shoe (white/blue/red) Hi-tec Venom III 2005 http://www.centralsports.co.uk/shop.php?page=detail&product=5715 hi-tec are pretty popular in the uK Ascics http://www.centralsports.co.uk/shop.php?page=detail&product=5496 Karakal (supposed sale?) http://www.centralsports.co.uk/shop.php?page=detail&product=5094 ps cambridge is terrible for badminton shoes so pretty hard to try on these "bargin" models in real life
Depending on your size.....but there is a place where you can get what was supposed to be Hi-Tecs top model(last year?), Adrenaline Viper 400:3 for only £19,99. www.pwp.com , "clearance deals", several sizes available. You can also find Yonex SHB 89M (size 11, 11.5 and 12.5 UK) for £29.99 at www.directsports-eshop.com Personally I've been using a pair of SHB-58M last season and they've been OK, but now they are falling apart so I've ordered some SHB-89 MX (£39.99) from directsports. HTH / mats
mmm thanks for the ideas! unfortuneately my feet are pretty "popular" 9-10 size so usually no clearance shoes but worth a look! what about the shoes from prince and karakal which have felt(?) rather than the normal plastic(?) such as yonex and hi-tec? do they feel different from the more typically sporty ones?
hmm i think they're squash shoes. Not so good. Squash involves mostly side to side movement. Badminton side to side and front to back. squash shoes therefore have too much side bolstering for a badminton player's comfort.
The Hi-Tec Vipers at www.pwp.com are available in almost any size from 6.5 - 12 UK so you might give them a try. Probably the best bargain at the moment in UK, if they fit your feet..... / mats
I'm using the current reebok court shoe - very very comfy for a person with wide feet like myself and good stability. The New Mizuno courr shoe is decently priced, but for people with narrower feet. I haven;t seen a decent pair of Asics for below $100 (CDN). No idea what the Adidas show is like - it's only $50, but if they are like the last ones I'd seen, they have zero padding and not a lot of stability ( but lots of traction)
I would agree with that. I'm on my third pair, i much prefer them to yonex shoes. The best thing about them is the value. £20 for a top pair of shoes is not bad
I just brought a pair of SHB55 HS and they feel great. Light - good grip - good support, look cool and most importantly cheap @ £26.98 including delivery. I brought them through directsports-eshop.com and they arrived in 3days - nice service
Fly Power shoes - good one. Designed by Hariyanto Arbi, the former world champion. His trademark jump smash is the logo. Not sure if there are still stocks available. This one is similar to yonex. I am using it. Light and good. Let me know if you want it. I'll be there for the finals. Cost around 60sgd a pair. If anyone can get cheaper for you, then pls go ahead. Many of my friends like it! PM or email profnet@hotmail.com Let me know the size in usa and the colour. red or blue only. If you want combo, (I use combo colours). Just order 2 pairs. Definitely heads will turn. My reply is colour blind. rgds
Just curious, how much is SG$60 in US$? And how much would the shipping cost be to the US, AZ in particular? Thanks.
Shb 68 I had been trying for about about 2 or 3 months to get a pair of shb 68's, as I live in england and they are not sold here, so searched high and low for a place that would ship here. The main reason i wanted them was because of the looks, and because I didn't want to be the same as everyone else in England with the usual yonex shoes. Anyway, I got a pair from Germany, and have just used them tonight......they are EASILY the best shoes I've ever had. They have loads of support around the ankles, making them very comfy, and plenty of grip. Also, the patch on the inside of the racket foot where alot of people wear through is padded. The best bit is their weight. I am a UK 8, and my bro is a 7. He has SHB 99. I put a thick heel cushion insole in, as well as a thin full length insole in my 68's and they are STILL lighter!! I'm considering buying another pair before they stop making them!
I really like the Hi-Tec Venom III shoes. I saw them at a store for around $50usd. But http://www.centralsports.co.uk/shop.php?page=detail&product=5715 that's like way cheaper right? Do they ship to the US?
shb68's are the lightest yonex shoes available, right now, lighter even than the shb98's by a good margin.
Even though I really don't like the color of 68, but i was told by more than 1 ppl that 68 gives very good protection, when it compares with 98.
