What is the highest rating that a tournament can be classifed? (i.e. 5 star?) How is the classification determined? Is it by the total amount of the prize money? Are the ranking points that a winner will get from a 5 star tournament more compared from the ranking points that a winner will get from a one star tournament? Looking forward to your replies... TIA!
i believe that the highest rating for any tournament is 7 stars given to the World Championships and the Olympics. winners of a higher rating event do recieve more ranking points than someone that wins a lower rating event.

Very Informative stuff. Thanks! This answered my question about the points. Tournament classification - is this established by the total amount of prize money? Or is the classification assigned IBF? (as enumerated for some of the tourneys in the above mentioned document)
