I'd have to say Candra Wijaya and Tony Gunawan. Too bad they had to split ^_^

Park Joo Bong and Kim Dong Moon...basically the combination of arguably the greatest doubles player of all time (PJB) and the best doubles player from 3/4 of the court KDM...had they came into badminton at the same time their would be no question of there superiority!

Candra Wijaya/Tony Gunawan and Kim Dong Moon/Ha Tae Kwon... Quite interesting that they were born in the same year too:p ! I wonder if Candra and Kim play together, they might be the best double that the world has ever had...

15 years is quite a long time span, so I'll nominate three pairs:
    Park & Kim
    Ricky & Rexy
    Kim & Ha

In my opinion, for a pair to be considered one of the greatest, they should at least have been Olympic and World Champs at one point in addition to winning numerous tournaments.

Just in terms of pure major wins, Park/Kim are probably the best.

As for Kim/Ha, I don't think Ha is really up there with the rest of them, neither is Chandra.

Tony Gunawan and Kim Dong Moon should be in anyone's top five as individuals but they didn't really have 'great' partners.

Whereas in both Park/Kim and Ricky/Rexy you had TWO great players together.

Sorry but I find it insulting to call Chandra and Ha not great partners. Kim and Tony often acknowledge their partners, Ha and Chandra respectively.

You can see the chemistry when they play together. It takes 2 to play doubles, and 2 great players to be a great doubles pair. One provides the brains the other providing the brawn. Yin and Yang.

The 2 that you pick are very similar in playing style and character. One is quoted as the best all round doubles player, and the other best mens doubles player, in this respect I can see where you are coming from.

However, If you want to put it this way, then one can argue that Ricky was not as 'great' as Rexy.

I would say PJB/KDM and Sigit/Candra. And also our own sidek brothers Jailani/Rasif... its hard to find a good brotherly combo in doubles.
