    Asian badminton main draw postponed

HYDERABAD: The main draw of the Senior Asian badminton championship for men and women, starting from Sept. 6, at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium will now commence only on September 7, according to K.Ch. Punnaiah Choudary, joint secretary of Badminton Association of India.

The Chinese contingent for the above event had requested the organisers not to start any matches before September 7 which was the date they were informed well in advance.

Meanwhile, it is said that after the withdrawal of Iraq and Afghanistan all the teams except Malaysia and China had arrived in the City for the biggest badminton event in India, Choudhary said. The Chief Minister Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy will declare the meet open on Sept. 6 at 11.00 a.m. and there will be no matches on that day

    Wow..

Boy...talk about "power and control" and who's "in-charge" here...When China requested to "postpone", "do not start anything yet", the entire organizer crew "yielded"... :p

I think it was more of a mistake on the organisers part. This is the first time so obviously they want as many higher ranked players as they can get,yet there are no top Chinese players[Lin Dan,Bao etc.] coming so i dont think it's worth it.
