I just got this second hand racket from Japan, the stringing method is quite special.

I don't know anybody has posted similar picture in BC before, since it is very difficult to search it. I also hope that it is a correct forum to place it. :D

If anybody has experience in playing with this kind stringing method, please share about it.

Depending on how tight it is, if you happen to mistime your stroke slightly and catch the shuttle a little late just above the 'X', I think the shuttle could get stuck in the racquet. I think there's a incident at the WC where one player broke his string during a stroke and the shuttle was stuck in his racquet. I forgot who he was, though.

this kind of stringing method is for fun. Real match play , i don't think so. The tension is so loose.

wow, skipping the 18th cross? thats insane.
i always have my racquets strung with a missing cross, but thats the 21st cross that skipped. the 18th cross skip is just too high.

the cross is very unique though. but as some people have said, very easy to mis-hit and have the shuttle get caught between two strings.
its already happened before, where i skip the cross, or in the case of a few friends, at the very top.
so leaving that much room is a very bad idea.

It is not really a stringing pattern. You do this when you string for very young kids from discarded strings that are too short, i.e. left over from a bulk reel.

That's brilliant! It's very unique :D It reminds of a certain famous cheque pattern, imagine the contrast between black and yellow strings :p
