i had my racket strung with bg-65 string and they break every month. i don't smash much. i do mostly clears and slice drops. how is everyone else's bg-65 strings lasting for years? is it because i do slice dropshots too much?
Doing more slice cuts will stress the strings more than a dead-on smash. BG65 is very durable, so you might be mis-hitting it if the string snap nowhere near the sweet spot.
I believe the slice can damage the string even more than smash, due to the frequent move/friction in btw strings.
What I find on BG65 is like what it claims, very durable . I play 5-6 hours in a week and still last more than 8-months. I could not stand after that as BG65 did not break. Finally I cut off with a sissor (tension becomes very low naturally) . And now I switch to BG-66 which last about 2-3 months. But I like BG66 as string does not last long and therefore need not to play in very low tension.
