hi all. i recently purchased a red lightning tshirt and having compared it to pictures of lin dan in the same shirt i am convinced it is either a fake, or that yonex made 2 versions of the shirt. check out the pictures the top picture is the suspicious one in case you cannot tell. the most obvious thing is that when the collar is unbuttoned, the material that becomes visible is white and stands out a mile. the less subtle discrepancies... the proper shirt has black lines running vertically down the shirt and is not present on the 'fake' shirt. across the chest of the possible fake shirt the black slowly merges into the red with an inch or two of black and red spots, whereas on the proper shirt there is a distinct line where the red meets the black. still not convinced... the replica shirt feels like its made of cardboard too. can someone explain these differences or is it actually a fake? thanks for your time
Its not fake. its just a diff version it's the 'high cotton' polo (sorry i dont have the appropriate textile jargon). the bottom pic is the 'polyester' version (more expensive, does not really absorb sweat much, etc.) 8man
i know someone with this shirt, its nowhere near as nice as the real one/other version. Its a thick cotton shirt and the finish of the design is not as clear; you can see white through the pattern. did u find that on ebay?? i was thinking of buying something from that seller
8Man: are you saying all polyester versions of the Yonex shirts don't absorb well or just this particular one? Thanks.
yeh on ebay. where else? lol! and yes it does have yonex on the buttons, and yonex pretty much everywhere. if its a different version then technically its not a fake. But that wont stop me having a go at the seller as they claim lin dan wears this shirt and given the choice i think he would wear the polyester one because it looks better and wont restrict movement like this cardboard/cotton version.
having thought about it a bit more... why would yonex have two different designs for the same shirt? any ideas? and for fast3r... does your friend with the not so good shirt have white around the collar. difficult to describe what i mean, but on my shirt when you undo the buttons, the flap with the buttons on, and the reverse side of the flap with the holes are white and it looks silly.
hehe, that's still my favorite shirt ever made. I wear it for just normal occassions all the time. Ohhh yeah!
They are not fakes.. one is VeryCool Material and the other one is Coolfit which is made from cotton. The coolfit ones are cheaper and are usually distributed in SEA.
the one waer by those PRO and always made in japan jespo type which is VERY cool and light (which is the so call true ones) in the market wat we see is always the cheaper cotton one with slight diff here and there...
ummm i dunno...... the cotton t-shirts with printed patterns all over them can get quite stuffy coz the 'printing' has covered all the holes a cotton t-shirt would normally have. i personally prefer yonex cotton t-shirts cut and sow versions.... or those with minimum printing. hey........ its a warm and humid country here. cheers 8man
not fake... just different materials... i have 2 shirts with similar design but different material. polyester and cotton. polyester one is more expensive...
Is there anywhere is europe where you can order these kind of nice looking t-shirts? Im from Sweden and i would like to get my hands on a few, here ive only seen that they sell like plainly white or similar as boring.
i've seen where this shirt came from on ebay - anybody care to take a look at this guy's stuff and tell the rest of us if it's fake? the shoes look a bit odd.. dunno if that's just because they're not UK one's tho? anybody clear it up for us over here? cheers oh.. the guy's ebay name is valuebuy2005 cheers for any help
