    Team Indonesia Pelatnas players:
    MEN'S SINGLES
    Tommy Sugiarto
    Andre Kurniawan
    Stenny Kusuma -- Pelatnas players?

    WOMEN'S SINGLES
Wiwis Meiliana -- prepared to be Indo no 4's singles for Uber Cup
    Bellaetrix Manuputi -- Pelatnas players?
Pia Zebadiah -- not yet in Pelatnas I think, but I hope she wins

    MEN'S DOUBLES
Many Indo pairs...but these are the 3 main pairs:

Hendra Gunawan/Joko Riyadi (drawn against Shon Sheung Mo/Lee Jae Jin in the quarter-final  ) Possible win here?
    Rian Sukmawan/Rendra Wijaya
    Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki/Yoga Ugi-Kasah

    WOMEN'S DOUBLES
    Nitya K./Nadya Melati -- hmm..second satellite win?
    Purwati/Meiliana Jauhari -- Pelatnas players?
    Heni Budiman/Yulianti -- hmm..Heni was Greysia's former partner...a good doubles player too I think...possible new pairing here?

    MIXED DOUBLES
Bona Septano/Pia Zebadiah -- also possibly non-Pelatnas...but the brother/sister combination is lethal!

    Semi-Final Lineup

Yup...its semi-finals tomorrow. Predictions in bold.

    MEN'S SINGLES
Shon Seung Mo vs Jeffer Rosobin
Yogendran Krishnan vs Markus Wijanu -- a good outing for the Indonesian junior player. Hope to see more from him next year.

-- Shon to end the year with a title. He's had a tiring month, competing in HK Open, China Open, Taiwan Open, and now the Malaysian Satellite. That's 16 matches since 1 Nov!

    WOMEN'S SINGLES
Bae Sung Hee vs Kang Joo Yung
Lydia Cheah Li Ya vs Pia Zebadiah

    -- hmm..Pia to win?

    MEN'S DOUBLES
Gan Taik Chai/Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif vs Yoga Ugikasah/Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki -- it has been a good 2 weeks for the Indo young pair (winning 5 matches). But, the Malaysian pair is more experienced and ranked 16.

Khoo Chung Kiat/Mohd Razif Abdul Latif vs Hendra Gunawan/Joko Riyadi

-- it could be an all-Indo final or an all-Malaysian final. Hopefully, Hendra/Joko can win the first title here. They beat Lee Jae Jin/Shon Seung Mo easily and should face a stiff test against the slightly higher ranked Gan/Abdul Latif in the final.

    WOMEN'S DOUBLES
Fong Chew Yen/See Phui Leng vs Kang Joo Young/Lee Seul Gi
Purwati/Meiliana Jauhari vs Kim Jin Ok/Bae Seung Hee

    MIXED DOUBLES
Kenichi Hayakawa/Megumi Taruno vs Lee Jae Jin/Kim Jin Ok
Ruben Gordown Kosadalina/Wong Wai See vs Gan Teik Chai/Fong Chew Yen

    Finals Lineup

    Predictions in bold.

    MEN'S SINGLES
Shon Seung Mo vs Yogendran Krishnan

    -- Shon to win

    WOMEN'S SINGLES
Bae Sung Hee vs Lydia Cheah Li Ya

    MEN'S DOUBLES
Gan Teik Chai/Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif vs Hendra Gunawan/Joko Riyadi -- Match of the Day

-- time for Hendra/Joko to win a title! They lost to Chew Choon Eng/Choong Tan Fook in the final last year. Both pairs are evenly matched and separated in rankings by only 3 positions. Should be an interesting match.

    WOMEN'S DOUBLES
Kang Joo Young/Lee Seul Gi vs Purwati/Meiliana Jauhari

    MIXED DOUBLES
Lee Jae Jin/Kim Jin Ok vs Gan Teik Chai/Fong Chew Yen

-- hmm...one half of the World No 1 pair competing in a Satelitte tournament...with the other half not around.

A splendid performance from Gan Teik Chai in the MAlaysia Satellite 2005

It was indeed a fantastic performance from local boy ,Gan Teik Chai in the Malaysia Satellite Tournament 2005 in Alor Star,Kedah. He captured two titles.First he partnered Fong Chew to take the Mixed Doubles Title defeating Lee Jae Jin & Kim Jin Ok in rubber sets. Then,in the Men's DOubles with Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif they put up a scintillating performance to overcome the Indonesian pair of Joko Riyadi and Hendra Aprida Gunawan also in rubber sets.

I think Lydia has put up a sterling performance. She is only 16 and she a finalist.
though she lost there is nothing to be ashamed of.

Sigh...another final defeat for Hendra/Joko :( But, as predicted, it was an even-match and overall, it has been a good fortnight for Hendra/Joko as well as Yoga/Yonathan. Hendra/Joko won 7 matches to bring their total to 15 wins in 7 tournaments (5 Opens, 1 ABC, and 1 Satellite). Meanwhile, Yoga/Yonathan won 5 matches and their total is 12 wins in 5 tournaments (2 Opens and 3 Satellites).

Anyway, the record for the first team is as follows:
    Candra/Sigit -- WON 39 (LOST 7) 4 TITLES
    Markis/Hendra -- WON 20 (LOST 9) 2 TITLES
    Luluk/Alven -- WON 24 (LOST 10)
    Flandy/Eng Hian -- WON 15 (LOST 9)

It is almost certain that the second team will be sent to the same tournaments they are competing in this year (ABC, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Chinese Taipei Opens) and possibly the Phillipine Open. However, I hope to see PBSI start sending Hendra/Joko to at least 2 more 5* tournaments in Asia (eg: Korea and Japan Opens) next year. This will certainly increase their match experience against top pairs and improve their ranking to at least the top 15 by end of next year. I believe they will be ready to be Indonesia's second/third pair by the time the Beijing Olympics come.

    Intersting...thanks for the datas..
I assume these are their 2005 record??...and the wins are 'matches' not 'sets'??..
wow, Candra/Sigit has a pretty solid year with a .840+ winning percentage..

Oh badMania, on that note, since i know you're a "data guy", if you don't mind, can you post the other top 8 or top 10 MD pairs', in the world, wins and losses records??..just for comparison purposes..hehehe.. :p ;)

True, she is only 16, but how old is the Korean girl? There are quite a number of new Korean names in the tournament, and the Korean girls did quite well.

However, I do think that Lydia has potential.

And well done, Gan Teik Chai.

Wow, you did it!!phew, thx for checking that out... :) :D

Hmm, that's only 6 other pairs...So you mean the 4 Indo MD pairs are currently in the top 10 ranking??..How do you based it on??..

Candra and Sigit still has the better record in between all of them, in regards to winning percentage as well as no. of titles achieved. I think both Candra/Sigit should be in consideration as condidates for the 2005 IBF Co-Player of the Year award..:p:)..
