:crying: Iam about to acquire a new racquet but cant decide what to get. I am above intermediate level and previousily had the Carlton Powerflo 700 which has lasted a couple of years but and been good to me. The problem is that I do not like normal handles hence the Carlton powerflo was chosen due to the sewn in groove/stitch which allowed for more comfort as well as grip. PLEASE PLEASE help in helping me choose a new racquet (ive heard the Yonex are now the leaders so maybe try one of them??) Also, I am from the Manchester area in England - anyone know of any teams that require a new player for doubles then please let me know? Thanks for all your help Sam
This all depends on your type of play but in general, my recommendations for Yonex rackets: Doubles/Power: AT800OF Doubles/Defensive: AT800DE All around safest bet: MP99 If Singles/Offensive: AT700 Singles/Defensive: MP88
Try re-posting your post on the Equipment Forum And it'll be really useful if you can include the price range of racket, what type of player you are (attacking, defensive) and ecetera. http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8426
Sam - The Carlton grip you can buy and apply it to any racket you like. Whether Yonex is the market leader or not should not be a factor. I live near Manchester too. I'll PM you with some details which you may be interested in.
