Taufik lost today and the race fore the title is on....
    But who will take it?
I think that Kenneth is a good bet becaurse of the following 3 reasons:

    1. His draw is better than LCW.
    2. His rutine will become a big factor.
    3. He has not lost any form since the WC

I think that its his time now and he is hungry to take his first title this year after losing finals in Korea and Thailand.

But this is just my point of view and ofcourse it will be very difficult and many good players are still in the race, but I hope that he will come out on top.:D

yikes, he lost?!! i thought he'd do better...oh well...to whom and what's the score? maybe he wants to concentrate on the ever-so-elusive AE title...

methinks kj will have a much better chance of winning it...imho...but lcw might just steal the thunder away from him..:p

He lost to Simon Santoso 12-15, 3-15. I don't think he tried the second set.

I am a little surprised because he was on a role and we all thought he is trying to beat the record of winning 6 consecutive Indonesian Open titles. Nevertheless, this is just like him. He can win a tournament and then lose badly (for not trying) in another tournament like with the Singapore and Malaysian Open.

Actually, Taufik is *not going* for 6 consecutive IO titles. If he would have continued on and win this tourney, he will win his 6th overall.

    ya, you are right
but it is a very pity he dropped out io 2001, or else he had a chance for 6 consecutive champions then:rolleyes:

i got the BIG bad news yesterday when i was at school...
unbelievable he lost so easily, but i read he didnt have any pretext for the loss even the bad performance?:(

i really dont rate he lost purposely....
as for the topic, i bet to lee hyun ill:cool:

I think Kenneth will be the winner. He's world's number two and he's got great talent plus he looks very determined

Agreed...Sony can beat either Kenneth, Boonsak or Lee Hyun-Il. So far, the only players whom I think he fear are Lin Dan and Bao Chunlai. This is the tournament for him to show to the world that he's indeed back to where he's rightly belong...the top 10.

Of course sony can beat either of the 3 that are with him in the semis but on the other hand he can loose to all of them.
He won the Asian games and that is a great result, but his preformance in the WC showes that he still has a long way to go.

Kenneth on the other hand has positive scores against all of them and his form right now is almost scary, but then again much can happen and nothing is sure until the last shuttle have been played.

So bring on the show in the semis and lets see who will become Champ.:D

I still think an Indonesian will win MS title on their home soil. Taufik and Simon have gone, so it is Sony.
