    Hi all,

I'm presently playing with BG-65. I'm playing over 2/4 times a week with nylon shuttelcocks, because Feather ones are too expensive for my purse :(

But recently, i've heard many good points, by my friends, about BG-80 : It is generally superior to BG-65 in every aspects, the only disadvantage is the durability ... Despite of this bad point, i'm somehow going to try it now.

And i was just wondering : Can i allow me to play with nylon shuttelcocks with this string ?
Or will it break too easily ?
Is the durability between BG-80 and BG-65 so different at the same tension, as well as with same shuttelcocks ? (feather or nylon)

Thanks for every replies and advices :)

Should be no problems playing with the BG80. If you're playing at a high tension with BG65's, you may need to drop the tension by 1lb.

Personally, I prefer the BG80 over the BG65. There's a lot more feel in the shot and less deadness. Much better for control shots than the BG65 and feels more elastic when bedded in.

There is always a trade-off b/t springiness and durability. You can't get the both at the same time. I think strings break more easily with feather birdies than nylon ones, because the latter is lighter. The string life span also depends on otehr factors, including the tension.

Why don't you try BG80 by yourself? It's not expensive comparing with trying a new racket. Actually, I plan to buy a BG80 sooner.

Errrrrrr, isn't it the other way around? I believe nylon breaks strings faster.

It depends on the nylons shuttle. Some ones (lower lvl carlton, yellow with rubber cork) are very light. some other ones (usually higher end with wooden cork) might be quite heavy, especially if u pick "fast" speed.

When compare to BG66 or BG85, yes...

When compare to BG70pro or BG65, no...

Yep and I feel BG-80 is a bit less repulsive than BG-85. BG-80 is my current go to string.
