Overhead Serve?
The other day I overheard some people talking about the possibility of the IBF implementing an overhead serve along with the up to 21 points. STOP TRYING TO MAKE BADMINTON TENNIS. HIRE AN EXPERIENCED BUSINESSMAN WHO HAS PLAYED BADMINTON AT A HIGH LEVEL. GO INTO DEBT A LITTLE, TAKE A CHANCE!!! PROMOTE THE SPORT THROUGH ADVERTISING!

wow...an overhead serve? did they imply where the serve must be played from? because if it's from the short service line, then that's way too easy to score points. BTW, where did you read/see/hear this? I want to fill myself in on some of these new ideas to "improve" our beloved game of badminton. thanks.

I hope this is just a rumor. The 21 point is cool and all, but the overhand serve? sounds like a rumor to me

overhead serve
Hi,
Wow, this is something smashing!!!
Imagine it will be like my kids do, throw up the shuttlecock in the air and start smashing them in quick motion. Sometimes, I think it will unfair to the receiver.........
Those who love to smash will like this idea
Those who are poor in retrieving smashes will not support this
Afterall, this is an overhead serve, isn't it

Why not just switch over to tennis completely? If it's Punch G.'s idea, I wanna pop him one
. Can't believe IBF even entertain that idea!

Let us see how tennis players do a badminton style backhand short serve. Or badminton players learning how to create a top spin on the shuttle. Now these things would be interesting. Or maybe as absurd as an overhead badminton serve.

Overheard serve?!
SCHWEEEEET!!!
My serve will no longer be a weak point in my game. Now I just have to work on return of serve, clearing, dropping, net shots, backhand, forehand, and smash defense...

Please, an overhead serve completely defies the point of the game. Unless you played it from the back its unfair, and if you do play it from the back, what are you supposed to do with it? People with good returns would walk all over you.
Grrr why try and mix badminton with tennis, its not even a good game dammit
