Loong time ago when junior, Towi play in MD. In AJC 2005 he paired with his club mate M. Syarifuddin (I forgot the name)

In some tournaments around 3-5 years ago, Towi was partnered with Rijal....

According to INA local news, Hendra Setiawan will be called back by PBSI to become part of National Team once again, & will be paired with one of PBSI current MD Squad pool, most probably it would be Ahsan. On the other hand, Markis Kido to whom Hendra has paired for as long as 13 Years since their childhood will partner with Alvent Yulianto who is another Non national team player since 2012 Vietnam Open.

) this August. Is this recalling part of long-term project (i.e. potential pairing for Rio 2016) or for the sake of grooming his partner?
Personally, I prefer him paired with much younger partner, perhaps one from our back-ups team (Ricky/Ulin and co.)

And honestly, I think Ahsan is more-or-less 'mentok' already, whoever he's paired with.

Well, i do agree with Jagdpanther, Hendra should be partnered with younger partner for the sake of grooming the younger player. In the age of 32 assumed Hendra wants to compete at Rio, it is still possible to play competitive MD, since Hendra is more towards placement player. If PBSI are not forming new pair for Rio, still, partnering Hendra with much younger partner will be more beneficial for PBSI in the long run.

I always believe they would have be a medallist if they participate but they choose not to.

Hi everybody! I am huge Kido and Setiawan fan from the Philippines. I dont know any update on their partnership. I read somewhere that they are splitting and how come Kido has a different partner during the Vietnam Open. Kindly elaborate please. Thanks in advance.

Hendra Setiawan has been asked to re-enter to the National Team, based on Hauge, not oficially yet.

Hendra Setiawan - why didn't he expressed that much emotions as expected when he made the final shot/drop and won the MD final in the Asian Games 2010?

That's very special. Maybe an attitude which has led him and his partner to the olympic gold medal in 2008.
