This is to inform that we have a large group of VRCians who will drop in VLTBC as guests this Sunday. We need more people. Please confirm by PM. Thank you.

Is the raid for VRC members only or anybody? At what time?

Cheers!

Does this mean that you all are not playing Sat's night in VRC? I was thinking of dropping in. If that is the case, I'll skip Sat and tag along for the VLBT or do you all have enough players?

No buddy... we play Saturday night AND the following evening:D! It's doable, we just don't overdo on the postgame twilight brunch thingie:p. Drop-in's $8 per guest.

Of course, other BF'ers invited if interested in joining us. As long as you liaisoned with PeteLSD first via pm, we could all go in as a group. 5pm can be the designated meeting time at the VLTC if everybody can make it. Please check here for the latest development:).

We should give an applause to VanCity*VLTBC* and Gary for bringing us in as guests. Remember it's an all white wear venue and $8 drop in fees.

If your overall wear is 70% white, no one will say anything. Just don't show up with Yonex's latest colors and patterns.

Parking can be underground or at the front entrance. Please be there at 5:00 PM sharp!!!

Pete,

Just a reminder that I will be at VRC parking lot to meet up with you guys at around 4:45pm. I will be driving to VLTBC, so pm me if anyone wants to carpool from VRC to our destination:).

Yes, a big warm thank you to Gary and VanCity*VLTBC*. They are very gracious to invite us into the club. I hope everyone in our group have at least one game with either of them:).

.

Now... all I need is a comfy white shorts to go with my New Balance Eurotec Shirt:D!

Heartiest thanks to VanCity*VLTBC* and Gary for the games and sign-ins! I had tons of fun and I must say, VLTBC is an excellent club. Very nice indeed, like a 5-star hotel, I felt like.

Hey PeteLSD, thanks for organizing!

Roll call:
• Cappy75
• timeless
• Mr/Mrs speed78
• TTT
• viver
• Break-My-Strings
• PeteLSD
• SchrodingerCat

Makes me seriously consider plonking down the CAD $20,000 entrance fee (financing available :D) and CAD $120-ish per month (I think).

Here here! They're very gracious hosts. Too bad that they didn't stay long enough to play with every one of us, but it's ok... there's always next time:D!

So VLTBC is an all-white attire facility. What does this mean? You wear white shirts, and white shorts to play. Simple, right? You would think so. Somehow, someone mentioned 70% white is okay. I took this to mean that white shorts are prefered but not a must.

With this, I proceeded to the courts with my BLUE shorts. I sorta felt the horrified looks of the other VLTBC members before VanCity*VLTBC* (who's absolutely the nicest guy) point nervously in my direction and say, "Does he have white shorts?"

Ten minutes later, I'm driving around 4th Avenue looking for a sports store in the pouring rain. It's Sunday and stores close at 5:30 pm here on Sundays. Three stores later, I'm putting behind me the puzzled looks of store staff at my request for white shorts as summer's over, and the rainy weather has started. Evidently, white shorts are a tennis thing, which sell like hot cakes around May. This is October.

No cheap shorts for wood_22_chuck.

So it's back to Rackets & Runners whose store is legendary for mark-ups. White shorts galore, and no summer blowout sale in sight. I pick four white shorts, and who knew picking white shorts would be a chore! White being a little, uh, see-through, you've got to pick the right material, as the outline of the pockets will be evident ... not to mention your, uh, undergarments. Finally pick one with the right material thickness. I pull the product tag, and flip it over to glance at the price.

After picking myself off the floor (I passed out when I saw the price), I went over to the cashier and paid (I hope you're sitting down) CAD $60 and change for the shorts.

Without further ado, here it is:

p.s. the moment I spill ketchup or mustard on this shorts, I'm going to have a nervous breakdown.

Never played at VLTC, it is really nice facility indeed and thanks to VanCity*VLTBC* to host us. Too bad did not have a chance to play with him.

wood_22_chuck looked sharp in his nice new shorts. :D Noticed he was moving faster and even his smashes were (sounded) more powerful. What a difference a pair of shorts make  wood_22_chuck, the money was well spent.

Heh! Don't worry about it. You should wear it only on special occasion... like when you get to play in those nice country clubs:p.

Now that we have played in VLTBC, we should check out the other country clubs. Hopefully we'll get to meet up with some Hollyburn and Arbutus BF'ers and do reciprocal 'exchange visits';).

*hint hint, nudge nudge*
