rudy hartono, pbsi official, said " indonesia will send full team in sea games manila phil nov 2005 after hearing that malaysia and thailand will aso send full teams (confirmed)". indonesia may skip china open 2005.

indonesia aim 4 gold medals in sea games manila 2005, as follow:

3 individual events: men single, men double and mixed double, and 1 gold for men team.

    in individual events:

men singles: sony dwi kuncoro and simon santoso
    men doubles: alven/luluk and kidho/hendra
    mixed: nova/natsir and anggun/tetty

    men team:
taufik hidayat, sony dwi kuncoro, simon santoso alven/luluk and kidho/hendra

and china open 2005, i think, will be "lonely" :)

I wonder if it's because Chinese didn't go to Indonesian this year. Sigh. Chinese didn't go to Indonesian Open, and Indonesian are not going to China Open. Very soon, the sponsers will start losing interest in these 2 major tournments.

If it is so, it's a pity. China Open is one of the six star tournament which players can earn more points. I don't know if it is because Chinese didn't participate in the last Indonesian Open 2005.
I know that SEA Games is probably important for Indonesia, but in my opinion, for MS, MD and XD, it's better to send them also to China Open.

Agree with the decision, if it's true.
Better to send them to the Sea Games than to China Open. The China Open will remain a six star tournament without Indonesian players. Just as the Indonesia Open without the Chinese!
Even if it's quite *lonely* ;) admittedly.

Yes, getting more points for higher IBF ranking is important, but winning gold medals for our country is much more important, imho.
Our team in Sea Games have to win gold medals as many as possible!
If Malaysia and Thailand are going to send their best players, we have no choice but do the same. We do not want our badminton team going home from Manila empty handed without gold medals. Malaysia and Thailand are so strong today.

Oh, I am sure badminton lovers in Manila/Philippines will be eager to see many world-class players fight for the honour of their countries. I hope there will be exciting games, as usually happen in such event. :)

Well. Indonesia Open is also the 6th star tournament where players can earn more points. But China didn't come because they think a national competation is more important than 6th star tournament. So for Indonesia, SEA Games is also important to prove that they are still the best in Sout East Asia.

Anyway, apart from that. Whatever the reason. I still think that both team are childish if they can't come to one tournament because they are more important tournament to be attended.

china open must give a wide month gap with indo open

i think china open must hold in early year and then indonesia open hold 5 month later.

for extreme, IBF must give a rule that top players (rangking 1 to 7) must play in 6 stars tournament, if they skip they will get fined (maybe $5000 :)).

It's like some revenge (again..for China!!)

Indonesia may not come to China Oopen!!
I'd love to hear that..coz China make it first..when they not came in Indonesia Open..and rather to choose their own tournaments..
Well thats OK..hope it makes them not so proud for their strengths in Badminton..and try to make the other country seem so small..
Same like China master..it could be so ''lonely''..
(I agreed with Ningtyas and Taufik-1st)
    Go..go Indonesia Badminton..
Get 4 gold medals from men dobles, mixed, men singles and men team in Sea Games!!

Based on the current standings. I think Indonesia will top during the SEA GAMES. But i do hope Msian team will play their best. I'll be there to cheer them on.

Well, if it is a revenge, it is not a right way to do. I think PBSI do this not for revenge, they just want Indonesia get 4 gold medals at least at SEA GAMES. This is my opinion. China Open is a prestigious tournament, so as Indonesian Open 2005. Well, it's so sad if Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand will skip that. Then, China Open will be like a local competition again like China Masters. Hmm....even though they are very strong now but it's still anice if we can see players from other countries could coma and win...

and they all go out in the first round...if they don't want to be there (or if the coaches dont want them to be there) trying their very best, you might as well let other competitors play who would otherwise not get such a chance.

    ya, i agree with you
what a pity that the two prestigious tournaments which dont have the all best players join in this years
i think china national tournament and SEA GAME are both important to the two countries severally and it is reasonable:)
lets hope next year we will enjoy the wonderful matches
