Hi guys, i'm looking for public clubs that offers badminton(such as YMCA, cuz, i already read those badminton clubs someone has posted before) in Calgary. And, if u know any good badminton classes, plz tell me. I'm only 15 btw....
For badminton Class http://www.badmintoncalgary.ab.ca/info/junior/junior-cityofcalgarybadmintonprogram.html http://www.badmintoncalgary.ab.ca/info/junior/junior-houndsfieldheights.htm http://www.badmintoncalgary.ab.ca/info/junior/junior-calgarybadmintonacademy.html For places to play badminton, i know a few of my head Cardel Place - require booking of court Talisman - require booking of court U of C drop in - Friday 7-10pm, Sunday 1-4pm Hillhurts Community Centre - Friday 7:30-10:30pm Village Square Leisure Centre - pretty much every day but official badminton day Monday, Wednesday and 8 courts on Friday only hope that helps D.
Also, Tues from 7 pm - 10 pm is half price off admission. It's good if you're tight on money, but it's somewhat busy.
Anyone play at the Hounsfield Heights/Briar Hill gym near the North Hill mall? They have a seniors club that opens Tue. to Fri. mornings 0900 to noon. Only $3 each time.
Too bad, I go to Cardel Place sometimes but people only play with those they come with and court times are limited and more crowded especially on weekends.
I am not a senior and I play there, too. It is a great place to practice your footwork technique since most of the time your partner won't be doing much to get the birdie unless it's hit directly to them(and not above them). =) Keep in mind, no hard smashes to the center of the court because chances are you will hit one of your opponents(whom for some reason stand in front of the net) straight in the face. LOL There are a few very good players there from time to time.
Hello kasuya, I was there today, maybe we should meet up sometime. Maybe we have already played before. Good to hear from a fellow member.

If your still interested in classes theres actually a class down at the Chinese Clutral Centre for badminton its either tuesdays or thursdays (depends which one you sign up for) its about $80 and its 10 classes, i think its from 6pm-9pm and i believe that classes start on the 21 (tuesday) or 23 (thursday) of febuary so i believe you have till then to register for it, might want to call and make sure about all of that i have yet to register still waiting for friends to join.
