I have to revive this thread and quote myself.

I can nwo do 22inches....not dramatically more, and I don't feel I'm jumping higher on court..but i jump with more ease, and less tirering...

I did sqauts, sporadical plyometrics (can't get my ahnds on a worthy Box, one not costinf $40) and just jump as high as i cna mostly (our attic has a 4m ceiling)

34" is definitely not the "maximum". For instance, I know that back in the early 80s, everyone on the Cuban National Volleyball Team had at least a 30" vertical. I remember my Volleyball Coach telling me the Cuban Team warming up by each person (except the setter) jumping up and grabbing the TOP of the backboard on a basketball court!
Yap, in fact i actually saw the old Cuban volleyball queen LUise..(forgot how to spell her) jump and touch the top of the backboard with ease..
and she wasn't even tall to start with
but i saw her did it the volleyball way, 3 step sprint then leap.

I'm sure that 34 inches isn't even close to high. I know some basketball players have 50 inches. I.e There is a streetballer named 50 because he has a 50 inch vert. Too bad I'm not even close. I'm 5'8 and can grab and hold basketball rim.

Yes, quite a few years ago, I could slam dunk a basketball...now I probably have trouble touching the rim...I don't wanna try, I'm in denial.

I'm gonna continue to train and my goal, hopefully, is to be able to slam dunk with a volleyball.
