How do you recover after difficult tournament/training? Swimming, stretching, sleeping, sauna, special food, pub? Thanks for any comment.
If it's been an intensive tournament, with at least two days of matches, I usually finish it off with extensive stretching (ca 30 minutes), followed by a long sauna session to really loosen up tense muscles. Apart from that I drink a lot (no alcohol though) during the next 24 hours, as it's impossible to drink enough during a tournament. I also try to eat protein- and carbohydrate-rich food to refuel. And add to that two days of rest, if possible... that usually does the trick for me. Oh, yeah, sex is good too.
Bugger science In that situation, who bothers about science? While on the topic, I wonder if the top international teams have "no sex before matches" policies, like some of the leading soccer teams...?
Re: Bugger science I'd rather not be the one doing (or receiving) the buggering! Any such thing as badminton groupies around?
Re: Bugger science Hmmm... to quote one guy in my club who commented on that topic: "Badminton is no bird magnet"
