I am currently at the french open as an amateur journalist for www.badzine.info with Raphael Sachetat and others. For those who understand French, you can read all the latest articles on that site. You can also follow live results on http://www.ffba.org/badnet/src/index.php?kpid=events&kaid=22&kdata=1.
Finals Finals starting in ten minutes (given in playing order) : MD : Chris Tonks/Chris Langridge (England) vs Simon Mollyhus/Anders Kristiansen (Denmark) WS : Pi Hongyan (France) vs Anne-Marie Pedersen (Denmark) XD : Jacob Chemniz/Julie Houmann (Denmark) vs Nabil Lasmari/Eny Widiowati (France/Indonesia) WD : Seiko Yamada/Shizuka Matsuo (Japan) vs Elodie Eymard/Weny Rahmawati (France) MS : Arif Rasidi (France (...Indonesia)) vs Stanislav Pukhov (Russia)
MD result Mollyhus/Kristiansen bt Tonks/Langridge 15-13 15-12. Pi Hongyan playing now... (7-0 in the first game)
Seiko Yamada's usual partner is Shizuka Yamamoto. So... has she changed partner, or is Yamamoto married, and using her husband's family name?
I don't know about this... Anyway, here are the last results : MX : Lasmari/Widiowati bt Chemniz/Houmann 4-15 15-7 15-13 WD : Eymard/Rahmawati bt Yamada/Matsuo 15-12 14-17 15-6 MS : Stanislav Pukhov bt Arif Rasidi 15-12 15-3
Note that this was the first victory ever in an international open for Eny Widiowati, the former former partner of Anggun Nugroho. She arrived in France last month to represent a french club in the national league, and she just played wonders to win the French Open!
6* Open next year?? There are important rumours saying that French Open might be a 6 star Open next year!!! Let's wait and see but this would be great news for fans around here!! Also heard : France might bid for 2009 world champs ...
