can we do a little survey of what strings and tensions we are using on this particular racket ?

Does the cross & mains tension have to be different ?

I want to focus more on using the Yonex strings.

    Thanks again.

    I use BG85 at around 23lbs.

Same tension on mains and cross.

As recommended by the Japanese Yonex website - I use BG80 strung at 23lbs.

    BG 65, 80, 85: 22/24lbs. or 25/28lbs. or 27/30lbs. :D

Whatever tension you prefer go with it, should be fine this side of 32lbs. I go with a 2lbs. difference on the mains and cross for 24lbs. and lower and a 3lbs. difference for 25lbs. or higher. Just been my experience this gets the racket as close to "round" (original unstrung shape) as possible; at least on my stringing machine.

Yep, the mains are always less than the cross.

I've got an AT800DE still with factory fitted strings, but just ordered another one with BG80 @ 22lbs. Will see how this feels before deciding what to get the first one restrung to.

BTW, I've got a 4U. Recommended tensions are higher for 3U, aren't they? Might be helpful if people say whether they've got 3U or 4U.

From a previous thread, people may well remember that I currently own 4 identical AT800DE. All are 3u strung with BG68ti at 28 pounds!

    PERFECT!

    :p

    Mine is a 4U G4.

For those of you who have access to the top-end Kimoni Nanos, you may want to try them out. They are 4U-ish and have the most power-for-weight I've ever seen on a 4U racket.

You wont be losing any maneuverability on these. The only downside is the high cost
