Did a search but didn't find anything so... ...what's the highest safe tension for the Blacken? I would like to string it at 25/28. Will this be OK? Thanks.
Thanks but I didn't string it, got the racket that way. I'm going to restring it now and I always start the cross from the bottom.
no scratches, must be a new racket. now experience the impact of metal on feather, it's different what string did u use?
Should be OK. I strung mine at 28 lbs. I am wondering if you could play with that racquet. It is very heavy and hurts my arm.
Nope, not a new racket. The original buyer just kept it in excellent shape. I used BG-80 at 26/29lbs. No problems. Yes, metal on feather is bad for the feather.
The Blacken is no problem. I started training with a Squash racket and usually swing a 2U Ti10 which is comparable in weight, so no worries.
Blacken should be kept as an antique. Why bother to restring and play with it? It is heavy, too stiff, has small frame, and ugly.
Wow! Really reminds me of my first yy rackets. The one and only Blacken!!!!!! I had it for at least 7 years since my primary 5(1981). After such a long time, i can't remember how does it feel holding one.
I got mine in 1976. It was in storage for a while (about 20 years) strung. I have recently start to play again and wonder how does it compare to new rackets. If I am willing to spend $50, will I get a better racket? or should I just restring to 20lb?
