Is there any difference between yonex shoes and other brands (say: nike or asics)? Sometimes, the shoes are quite different in size, some are larger than nike shoes, some are smaller, even they have the same number.
Yes, there are differences. I have even found differences within the same brand. Best suggestion is to try the actual shoe, if possible.
Thank you for your kindly advice. are all of them US number? Do you pick the smaller on yonex because it is wider or longer? And the yonex shoes are larger than normal shoes, or just longer/wider? I heard some rumor that Japanese brands are smaller, and some ppls said they wear one or half size larger when they wear Asics or Mizuno, but I wear the same size (asics, mizuno, nike and adidas). One pair of Asics shoes (1000V) are even too big.
Again, I feel if possible, it's best to try the shoes. For instance the SHB-99 shoe is wider than the SHB-98. My Mizuno 12.0 volleyball shoes = Yonex SHB-99 13.0. Just depends. I would not buy shoes based on best guess. And if best guess, buy a half size larger.
But there is no baddy/volleyball shoes in the local stores. BTW: are we talking the US size? UK size are 1 larger than US shoes. It is wired to me that you and bluejeff feel so different in Yonex shoes.
U.S. Sizing. Yes, it can be different that's why I say you should try. If you can't, then best guess or buy from a place where you can return/exchange the shoes.
Yes, they are in US sizes. Different shoes have different ratios of wideness. SHB89 is a type of shoes that is wider than others.
it will be very tough to find baddy shoes in Pittsburgh. but i do remember that the big Sports Authority (or is it ****'s Sporting Good) in Monroeville do have volleyball shoes. if i were to choose between badminton shoes that i cannot test wear and volleyball shoes that i can test. i will go for the volleyball shoes. i have found differences even with different shoes of the same model. you need to try out different ones that the store has to make sure they do fit your feet. that is very very important.
Sports Authority is a good place to get court shoes. Yes it is indeed volleyball shoes as I gotten myself the Nike Multicourt V - very nice soul for the gym floors. I gotten the Multicourt II about 2-3 years earlier. My feet are narrow so other brand names such as adidas don't fit me well.
Wut I learned at sport chek selling shoes: Different shoes are made from different molds. The molds are made after taking a sample of the local population. Depending where the mold of the shoe is made (asia vs americas) the different sizes will be present. ie. mold made in asia will have size 10s smaller than mold made in americas due to the fact azns hav smaller feet. Within the same brand there is still a differnce in size. Sometimes we find a 9.5 shoe will fit a person in a model but it wont in a different one. While the two shoes r made by the same company. Usually in this case if you look at the country the shoes are produced in, they would be different. Best idea if ur pruchasing shoes over the internet is to find the same model shoe at a local store and try on for size. Then purchase them thru the internet If you cant find the same model shoes, try for the same brand
