Its hard for the Fraser Valley because we don't have such a huge pool of players. But whenever a good group does come in, you can be sure that they are dedicated. In the past, many of the Vancouver teams just make it because they have provincial players (who ditch their team for nationals). Of course, now with the changed dates, it won't happen again. But of course, the changed dates are all due to politics too.

Sorry that I have to disagree
The changed of dates for High School Provincial is not due to politics……it due to progress……
It’s only fair that players train so hard throughout the years can compete for their Province in the Nationals; can compete for their clubs or training centres throughout the seasonal tournaments; and finally, can have the chance to compete for their schools. There is nothing wrong to have so called “provincial” player playing in the High School Provincials. Its too bad only 16 teams can “see” or “experience” the level of play from some of theses provincial or commonly called "A" players. But at least, everyone there can realize that they can be at the same level of play if they had the same among of trainings and dedications. As a matter of fact, I always consider you an A player because of your level of play. Too bad you did not compete in the “As “during your latest junior years.
We should appreciate the dedication and effort of all the players and the parents who support them no matter what level they are at. Over the last few years, the B tournaments had grown in size and having you running the CB tournaments are added bonuses. It is also encouraging to see; lately that some of the B players are starting to play in the A tournaments. With badminton facilities opening up ……..started with ClearOne couple of years ago and now ClearTwo with 12 courts open for business, it is a indication that the demand is there and it is good for Badminton. As a matter of fact, another badminton facility similar to ClearTwo will be opening soon and it is also located in Richmond and I have to repeat myself.................................. this is progress!!!
Well, Good luck for all those going to Cranbrook Provincial….I’ll see you there!!
In the mean time, continue with your training throughout your Christmas Break. You know, this year’s provincial is only 2 months away after the New Year!!
Tournaments before the Cranbrook Provincial are:
Junior Open (U12/U14) Feb 10/12
BK Elite #5 (U16/19) Feb 10/12
Southside B Feb 17-18
Also Good Luck to All Zones in BC Winter Games (U15) Feb 23-26.
Have a Merry Christmas and Peace on Earth for all Mankind Ho Ho Ho…….

i was told a story in gr9 (i'm gr10 now) about why there is no vancouver skools participating in v&d. for some reason that i cant remember, vancouver area only plays for their city championship and doesnt go into v&d. it was a choice from their district athletics association and not from the skools.
