St.Andrews (team I coach) and Claremont qualified today from Victoria. Not looking forward to the road trip!! Nice that our single A school can compete with the larger schools.

I heard about the Killnary thing, thats just absolutely rideculous. Not even the team members want to go to provincials... such an oppurtunity.
I really feel sorry for the people who does want go
And what other regions will be sending schools to provincials? as in up north and east side BC?

2006 - BC High School Provincial - Cranbrook Result
Just flew back from Cranbrook.
After 3 days of tournament, 16 qualified schools played 6 matches and the results are as follows
No.16 - Crawford Bay
No. 15 - Mt. Maker (Host School)
No. 14 - D.P. Todd
No. 13 - St Andrews
No. 12 - Burnaby Central
No. 11 - Moscrop
No. 10 - Richmond High
No. 9 - Kelowna
No. 8 - Alberni District
No. 7 - Claremont
No. 6 - MRSS
No. 5 - Pinetree
No. 4 - Cambie
Bronze Medalist - J.N. Burnett
Silver Medalist - Vancouver college/Little Flower Academy
Gold medalist - Eric Hamber
It was exciting matches in the final that VC/LFA lost a very close one to Hamber by a score of 6-5. The 6th win for Hamber was the boys doubles which went 3 games with the 3rd game score 15-13. That means Hamber just won the gold medal by a very close margin of 2 points. VC/LFA lost to Hamber 7-4 in last year's provincial in Victoria.
BTW - next years' host school will be JN Burnett in Richmond during the 1st week of March 2007.
There may be (or will be) new scoring rules in next school year. Details has yet to come. Service point system will replace current scoring and coaching will be allowed during matches. Please visit www.badmintioncanada.ca for details.
So, start practicing your serve now......because you may be just asked to serve during your next season's badminton tryout.......and suddenly, you are wondering why you didn't make the team.......lolLast edited by badelbow; 03-04-2006 at 09:59 PM.

Im actually quite happy that Moscrop got 11th this year, since this is our first provincials ever, and 2 of our girls couldn't make it to Provincials this year.
