my first decent racket was a second handed yonex b-8000 in 1980 something like that. it was broken at it's t join around 1982 after a smash. i guess it's all about a metal fatigue.

The one I still have is a YY Blacken c.1980. I used to have a couple of wooden YY c.197x. I think they conveyed with the house when my parents sold the latter.

Mine is a wooden Yonex Slim Stainless.
Had it since say around 1977 or 1978.
Been sitting in a racket press without strings probably for 20 years (in perfect condition.)
I've ordered a stringing machine, so will string it just for fun and see how it goes. ( Anyone know what tension old wooden rackets should use?)

Until recently I had my father's old all wood raquet that he played with when growing up ( he's now 62, so I'm guessing the raquet is 40+ years old)It came in a press and the grip was as big as most new tennis raquets.

Wood is was so old and dry that a stringer wouldn't even re-string it.

    old racket

    Hi,
My old junkie was an old wooden Dunlop racket in 1960s. I used it to play with adults in my primary school after school time. After the games, I used the wood cramp frame to tighten it,so it wouldn't warp in d warm and humid weather. Now, I had misplaced it away after migrated to another country.:crying: Now, my oldest is a Balcken Yonex B-8100. Still alive kicking.:p My Yonex Carbonex 20 is also going to be antic soon.D first batch ones.;)

My oldest racquets are the Yonex Ti-7 and the Yonex Carbonex 15. Had it since I started learning badminton. I know for sure the Ti-7 Mesh I have now is the first generations of Ti-7, but I'm not sure about the Carbonex 15
