Hey, I am interested in some new pre-game stretches. I recently had a shoulder injury, and i have noticed there are a lot of injury threads on Badminton Central. Everyone knows that the easiest way to avoid injury is to stretch before and after games. I think it would be cool if everyone could post pictures of their favorite stretches on this thread. That way we "badminton fanatics" can have a reference guide to help us avoid future injuries. PS: please make this a "STICKY". It would be very useful, and could be a benefit for everyone.
Hi Mark: good post. I was going to post something like this as well. Regarding pre/post stretching, I do the same. I do a bit of everything. I'll have to get back to you on the specifics/images tonight.
Yes, good topic. I'll be interested to see what everyone makes of it and what suggestions there are for it, because I'm a little hazy. Aleik.
For shoulder stretches, right arm across body stretch. then behind the back while applying pressure on the elbow with my left hand. quick calf stretch and go to rallying to warm arm and legs up.
Well, I think most of us have a routine. Here's mine: This is about 45 minutes before a match (on a tournament) - First I jog slowy in the hall - Stretching (first mostly legs, hamstrings) - Some footwork in the Hall - Some more stretching - On court, some clears just for warm-up - Stretching (now more arms, shoulders) Then I have a drink, eat something. That's it EDIT: I forgot the Post stretching Basicly the same I jog a little in the hall (barefoot) I stretch legs, arms, back, shoulder And then a hot shower
