Just curious who you feel are the fastest players? My Coach attended the WC and he surprised me by saying LCW was the fastest, then LD. I've never seen LCW play so don't know. So, who are currently the fastest players in each respective category? And what about old school players? Can any of them compete in raw speed with LCW and LD today? Thanks.
If you don't mind, here's my take.. I understand the question here is pertaining to LD and LCW..no??.. I think to distinct certain players as "fast", it's kind of hard because not all players have the same height and weight. We all know, in general, shorter players are "faster" & "quicker" than taller ones. Thus, we can't really compare LD to KennethJonassen. One is much taller than the other. Yet, IMO, Kenneth is as "fast" a player, esp. considering his height and probably body weight. Now, as a fan myself, i haven't had access to watch tons of international tournaments. But I did see the WC event as well, and saw basically all the players compete and practiced, incl. both LD and LCW. With that said, from seeing them 2 up-close during their pre-tournament practices as well as real matches, both at OCBC and the Pond, between LD and LCW, IMO, i would say both are *equally* "fast". Both are quite nimble and agile on their feet. Both can cover the court "equally fast". At least for their same height and weight class. Another MS player i would say is "fast" is Shoji Sato. And maybe others... As far as old school players, hmm, i can't say much because i didn't really follow most of all of them, only knew and watch a few of them. Just my .02 cents...
YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!juz register badminton central today....erm....I think the fastest player is Lee Chong Wei and Taufik Hidayat...
difficult question.. the tall players never need to be fast.. they just reach.. chen hong was always quick.. especially considering his size.. but generally the little guys are the one's that 'look' quick simply because they have to take more steps to get around oddly tho.. are the best singles players the ones who move fast or the ones who glide about the court looking effortless, never rushing but always being where the shuttle is going????
Well .. I'll also say Lin Dan LoL (I'm so original hahahha ) For Girl i want to say all Chinese !!! zhang ning, xie xingfang, gong ruina, gong zhichao etc ...
LOL! This isn't a beauty contest or American Idol. It's not who you want, it's who is actually the fastest.
hahhaa Don't worry S4madMan ! =p I said All chinese because i saw them and i didn't find anybody be faster than them lol but as i didn't see everybody lol maybe there is others players who can outplay them in this part of the game =p
correct answer unpossible if exact term of speed is not predefined there are many quality of being fast. i do not see chinese as fast nor fastest. i see thai, malaysian, indonesian as fastest, in that order. IF LD, XXF, GR, ZN, GZ are really fast, they wont be using at700 (think ) GZ look fast because she is short. when ur short, it's e-z-er to be quick. no doubt lcw is fastest, JUST LOOK AT HIS UNCLOTHED BODY. Do dont need to watch him play to know he is fast OR JUST LOOK AT HIS RACKET he had chosen to match his style of play.
I forgot 1 emerging badminton group. thai & vietnamese, malaysian, indonesian, on average, in that order
From WC2005 observation, LCW is the fastest and now my favourite MS ! He is the fastest because he is good at anticipating shots from his opponent. After he improves his physical fitness and experience, he will be lighting fast !!!! I feel this way, there is no need for technical analysis to prove my point.
KICK! You think way too much Cooler. I'm just asking a simple question, who's the fastest overall? Just answer, danngit!
It's hard to choose who is the fastest player. But in the record, the fastest smash currently hold by Fu Hai Feng, Chinese MD. And for MS, Lee Chong Wei is. 1) Fu Hai Feng - 332 Km/h 2) Lee Chong Wei - 331 Km/h
aren't we talking about speed wise?/... not smashing speed....~ if we're talking about speed wise.. i'll say LCW... he's like everywhere in the court...
