Bad news, no magic. All you can do is relieve the pain.

Apart from others good advice, try wearing a wrist support. It's uncomfortable at first.

Yes, if you have real pain you should see a doctor. You have to make sure that playing doesn't make it worse.

This would be a last resort, but consult your doctor. You can use some sort of pain killers. CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR!

    Tensor, or wrap

You may have sprained your wrist. Don't aggravate it. Try wrapping it with a tensor bandage or wrap of some sort to help keep the joint from moving. This is what helped me. It took about a week to heal.

    Re: Tensor, or wrap

You should put on ice for the first two days to reduce any swelling. After that, use heat treatment to accelerate the repairing of your injured tissue. Unfortunately, there is no magic that will heal your injuries quickly. If you want the pain to go away, use pain killers like aspirin.

man, if it hurts that bad I think you had better forget about playing for a few weeks. That sounds pretty serious.

Forget about school tryouts. If you are really that good, go back another day and show who's the best.....(in the school)

badminton isn't that important... getting onto the school team isn't that important...

If i were you... i'd just recover first, then if you really want to get onto the team, arrange something with the coach...

dont ruin your wrist for life...its not worth it.

    what racquet were you using?

Just curious, and will probably get scolded for not sticking to specific topic - but what racquet were you using when you started getting the wrist pain? Did you recently switch to a different racquet? Did you try hitting harder in practices in preparation for the tryouts?

and yes, Brett, I know that this does not answer his specific question... ;-)

try a wrist brace and wear it while u play. not those huge ones that are aimed for carpel tunnel syndrome but those sport ones are good. Small and wraps around wrist.

Re: what racquet were you using?

i didn't play badminton for the past 2 weeks!
and i didn't get hurt because of badminton
but today, it actually got better...i have power and i can hold things now...
hopefully it's gonna heal...and yes...i'm gonna talk to the coach and see if he can let me off for another week before i start playing. that should help me

but if u really want to know, i use a Ti-7 for normal playing and a Cab for training
