i wanna train my arm power so tat i can go for higher tension. my current tension is 20. i use a racquet equivalent to MP99. With tension 20, my smash is powerful, but i think with a 25-28, my smash will be explosive. So is there anyway to train the arm muscles without using squash racquet ( juz got a blister on my hand while training with squash racquet) and carry weight?

Do like 30 pushups a day. That's what I do.

I aim to be like Bruce Lee... He did 100 twice a day ;)

Unfortunately Bruce Lee's training was only for his punch speed :p Not above the head arm movements :p Hehehehee You can't avoid training with squash racket and weights if you want to increase your smash power. Sorry :p they are one of the best methods of increasing your smash power. Other than that, you can try resistance tubes, though I've never tried them out myself.

Going from 20lbs. to 25-28lbs. is not going to make your smash more powerful. Instead, you will gain more control and actually lose power.

The reason for using a squash racket to train is because it's heavier than a badminton racquet ... So my advice is to grab the heaviest squash racket you can find  .

I'm gonna have to humbly disagree with that. Even the lightest squash racket is way, way heavier than the heaviest badminton racket. I say go for the cheapest/least expensive squash racket. :p

Yeah, you are hitting bombs from the baseline :) . You and Vining should get together and visit VRC. You guys need to torture us ;) and the stickman.

I have tried a few squash rackets and for badminton practice, I do not think it makes a difference. To me they all feel the same. The key is to get a squash racket with a grip size as close to your badminton racket grip size as possible, so get the smallest grip. That's what I did and remove the OEM grip and replace with a thin overgrip. Now it's close but still a bit bigger.

Since there's no difference, I just got the least expensive squash racket, this one:

    Prince F3 Vision: I paid $40 but $25 here:

    It's 188grams, plenty heavy enough. :p

You are lucky that you use G2 grip. So it's easy to find a squash racquet of similar grip size.

No way, not me, I can't hang with you elite players. You'll just stand there and flick my smash back to the baseline and yawn. :p
