Hey all Last weekend I had Provincial Championships. Naturally these are dominated by Provincial Selection Players (if you know what I mean). I played really bad (had not played for 3 weeks, injured). At the end of the day, I sat in the dressing room with a couple of selection players who I knew thru a friend of mine who's also in the selection. One of them asks me "Are you sponsord by Yonex?" No, not because I play so super good but because I'm always nicely dressed in Yonex, because I use the latest Rackets, etc. I laughed, and said " I wish, but no". They all found it very strange that a medium level player (like me) would spend so much money on rackets & cloths & stuff. But the fact that he asked
To be honest it sounds like he was teasing/making fun of you. Depends on the tone with which he said it though - did he sound like he genuinely wanted to know if you were Yonex-sponsored?
