Is a fake racquet similar in feel and material as an authentic one? If you notice that I didn't include quality as I feel that it is a no-brainer that an authentic racquet will have better quality in general.

But let's say for the sake of discussion you have an authentic NANOSPEED 8000 and a fake NANOSPEED 8000 will they feel the same when you use it? Are they made from the same material? Sorry if this is a really dumb question, but I am simply curious. Thanks

yes, they are made from similar material generally, carbon fibers (if one exclude the handle and the paint)

So for all intents and purposes, it will perform more or less the same with the authentic one?

No, far from close. the balance point, good or bad material, different stiffness. The list goes on and on. Get a clone if you think the real yonex ns8k is to expensive. DO NOT get a fake please.

    no, i didnt say that.

If you plan to marry one day, ask if your fiancee prefer a diamond or a lump of coal  both made of 100% carbon for sure.

The basic material might be similar, but the outcome usually are 10,000 miles apart. Put this way, I don't think I can cook a chicken with the same good taste as a reputable chef, even if we use same type of chicken and sauce.

The purpose to produce fake product, is to "lower the cost" and "max. the profit". Since most of them just use the "look" to trick buyers, why care about the performance. Therefore, they use cheap material, team up with poor workmanship and QA control. Means, the final product's durability / playability are usually below acceptable level. To be worse, there's no "standard" in fake market. Even from the same "batch" of fakes, u can't even find the similar feeling btw 2.

My experience with fake Yonex rackets has been they are usually almost always more powerful. However, they have minimal feel and maximum vibration. Also, the balance is nowhere near the racket they are copying. Finally, these fakes usually have a finish better than their Yonex counterparts. :p

The fake racquets have similar looks but the feeling and the intented benefit with various material used in a specific model (e.g. titanium mesh for Ti series, Gforce titanium for Armortec) are not there. In addition, S4MadMan pointed out the the feel are totally different. The real Yonex racquet gives much better feel of the birdies and shot you make but the fake one you just can't sense that. I have tried fake Armortec 700 and Ti-10 and they are just totally different then the real one.

They are just that, replicas. Not as good as the original, overall.
