This is a repeat post of.. http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27948 I think post http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28105 ...answers the riddle.. Seems to be Asics shoes he is using.. Maybe he found out he could get some sponsor money from Asics as well?!?! /Twobeer
from recent tournament photos, it seem kenneth no longer sponsored by yonex. Although he is still using AT700, his shoes, shorts, shirt arent yonex.
From the HI-TEC website. Hi-Tec have agreed a 3-year contract with Jonassen who will also be using ProKennex rackets. This will all be aiming at the Olympics in Beijing in 2008, which should be the highlight of the then 34 year olds career. For Hi-Tec the high profile of Badminton in Denmark and major Asian markets like China and Korea will be a springboard to the further growth of the brand around the world.
NO WAY!!!! do you think yonex have dumped him or he's chosen to go that way? pro-kennex isn't exactly a huge brand... hi-tec are big - they've been sponsoring nathan and gail for years and the likes of simon archer, chris hunt, donna kellog, anthony clark have all been sponsored by them.. but thats quite a change for kenneth is you ask me.. i can't imagine that yonex would dump him - he's been consistently in the top 10 for years... (even if it's because he plays loads and loads of tournaments...) anybody think he'll go on to coaching afterwards? or play for another country?? Coops
Maybe he takes safety and comfort as his first priority over branded stuff Or maybe he likes the shoe so much that he is willing to give up sponsorship with yonex lol~
Maybe he is taking it as another way to promote badminton and break the domination of Yonex. Thumbs up for KJ!
well.. kenneth is stil using his yonex rackets, but with a prokennex sign. Still it's nice to see a top player being sponsored by someone else
And maybe it's the simple answer: money. Top 10 should be able to get 30-40 thousand euro (still peanuts compared to tennis ofcourse, pricemoney not even inlcuded which is even more ridiculous. Lose round 1 or 2 in a grandslam get $15,000 or so?!)
its a yonex at700. its quite clear from pictures. and there is someone who trains at my club who actually played kenneth and he said that it was a yonex racket.
