Thread: China Open 2005 Final

I haven't had any trouble with links not working. Only problem is info that was never there. Now the results are up in English but not in Chinese and the English results are missing the XD and the Bao/Gade results. The big problem, though, is that yesterday, and I assume it will be the same today, the order of the matches wasn't up until the broadcast started. Today that will be a pain because I want to know when not to watch it. I have no interest in all those all-Chinese finals. How many times have we seen Zhang vs. Xie this year? I've lost count. And Gao/Huang vs. Zhang/Yang? Hasn't it been like 10 each? Okay, Bao/Chen isn't so common in a final. Chen was exciting yesterday. Maybe I'll be able to stay awake for it. (it'll be afternoon or evening here, by the way).

Do you know what time in China the games are on & what the order is ?Also, will CCTV 5 be showing them or Guandong TV ?
Thanks

Are you sure about that? Aren't you GMT -8h on the Pacific coast? Beijing and Guangzhou are GMT +8h and the starting time is 1PM. That 16 hour difference would make it 9PM your time.

The CCTV-5 schedule isn't coming up at the moment but this old post by yannie says they'll be chiming in at 2PM.
These times aren't necessarily reliable. GDTV's schedule yesterday said they'd start broadcasting at 7PM but they started at 6PM and I think they were almost an hour late on a previous day.

TWO HOURS LEFT to get PPLive working!!!
No idea about the order. Last night, they didn't appear on the live scoring site until the beginning of the broadcast: 19:00. Likely the same today. Check my previous post for the other info you requested.

After that, find GDTV(广东体育) or, after 2PM, CCTV-5 on the channel list webpage in Chinese. I find the CCTV-5 link that says "CCTV-5 (800K)" works the best. If the Synacast links I've provided here don't work(and I'm assuming that would mean that selecting the channel from the channel list page wouldn't), you can find these channels from the menus when you right-click the system tray icon (after running your newly installed PPLive). The third arrow(hmm, it was fourth yesterday with v1.0.9.7 - may not be constant) in the Channel List menu is for Sports and under that menu, the first one should be GDTV and the CCTV-5 links are readable in English.
If all that doesn't work, give us a symptom or try PPStream (I don't use it because it won't give me proper Chinese characters on my non-Chinese OS but that isn't an issue once CCTV starts broadcasting). Some have even been using SopCast, I hear.
It will work better if all of us are using the same system, though, so please take the time to try to get PPLive working.Last edited by event; 11-12-2005 at 08:58 PM.

For WS I would take Xie Xingfang.
Don't forget, this China Open is in GoungZhou, the hometwon of Xie Xingfang.

I disagree. That is a bad idea because

PPLive is the way to go.

These are who I WANT to win:
MS : Chen Hong (because everyone else wants BCL to win)
WS : Xie Xing Fang (to prove she's not under Zhang Ning's thumb)
MD : Candra Wijaya/Sigit Budiarto (because they're so damn good)
WD : Gao Ling/Huang Sui (about time these two reversed the tables on the other two)
XD : Nathan Robertson/Gail Emms (their comeback party. Aaarrrr matey!)
