A bad day indeed for the Koreans!
As a matter of interest, event, are you of Korean nationality? If you are, you must have spent a number of years overseas, maybe the US. Because you don't 'sound' like a Korean!

quite surprise to know Wong Sin Yee(HKG) going so far...enter the QF!! she is sec. sch mate of one of my frd..she said she is the most unlucky HK player in chinaopen & hkopen becoz in the 2 opens she faced XXF in 1st round..she wanna cry when she know the draw..funny gal..

Yip Pui Yin will face Cheng Shao-Chieh in SF if they win the QF...Cheng Shao-Chieh really impress me in WC! i love both of them.. so this time i will be neutral..

    anyway, gogogo HKG!!

I don't know it, much people in here have family name "Wibowo" but Victo or Vidre name not much.

I'm only know their club when play in Indonesia, Victo from Djarum and Vidre from Tangkas.

I have spent many years overseas. In fact I'm still spending them. You should hear me speak Korean. It will take many more years yet before I sound like a Korean because you're right, I still sound more like a Canadian.

Too bad, both Wong Sin Yee and Yip Pui Yun lost in the quarter-final today. Cheng Shao Chieh will now face Seo Yoon Hee, while Chien Yu-Chin will face Tracey Hallam. However, Hong Kong does have a representative in the men's singles, with Yohan Hadikusumo Wiratama facing Shon Seung Mo in the semi-final. The other semi-final is an all-Korean affair, featuring Lee Hyun Il and Park Sung Hwan.

The Taiwanese pairs are dominant in the women's and mixed doubles, claiming 3 of the 4 spots in the respective disciplines. In the women's dobles, Chien/Cheng battles againsttheir compatriot Cheng/Chang, while Wilson-Smith/Lucas has to face Chiu/Chien. In the mixed doubles, Tony/Cheng should win against Wang/Wang, while Tsai/Chien faces a tough battle against Devin/Vita.

In the men's doubles, Boe/Mogensen should win against the only Taiwanese pair left Lu/Lin, while Tony/Halim will have a tough match the upcoming Indonesian pair of Hendra/Joko.

Quite a waste...since Maria led in the first set, but, a good experience and performance for her to reach the quarter-final. Anyway, she's still 20 and with proper coaching from Hendrawan and enough tournament participation, she + Firda and Nana could hopefully be in the top 10-20 within a year. All three are now ranked in the 30-40s.
