Hi, im about a beginer-intermediate player somewhere around there... i have been playing for almost a year now and i want to improve. I'm wondering which type of badminton lesson would be most beneficial to me, either Private lessons which i get 5 Lessons or Public lessons which i get 10-15 lessons.
If you are a beginner I would say get the public lessons first (of course try to match so the lessons match your skill level) and then add some private lessons, to get more individual advice, when you feel that you got the "basics".. /Twobeer
You learn more in one private lesson than in 10927407534709 group lessons. Group lessons are a joke if you don't really have the basics down. Learn the proper footwork and strokes, and then practice it in group lessons, and try things out. I'm not bashing group lessons, (exaggerate a little above), but seriously, private is more bang for your buck.
I find the best way to improve is to take a private lesson and tell your instructor to go through all the basic shots. Assuming you have the basic technique down, get a partner and a box of shuttles and practice those shots religiously for a few weeks, then go back and take another lesson to see your improvement. Basically, learn a technique and practice it till you are good at it. Then go forward. This way, you spend less money, get more practice and will improve faster.
