guys, just a little survey. how did you find this place? Yahoo! ? search engine ? some friend told you ? via some link in another website? i notice that we have a surge of new posters recently, which is great! i am just curious how we become so popular.
Searching on Yahoo for info on Ti Swing Power 2 years ago. Came across this site and was hooked ever since.
When all those Kevin KS Han postings at the worldbadminton.net discussion group made that forum totally unreadable, a kind user Willie suggested me to use this forum instead.
I just realized that how we found BC and why BC is so popular are two different questions. I've answered the first. The answer to the second is because this is the most content-rich, user-friendly, best-maintained, and responsive site (in technical sense and in replying to users' suggestions) dedicated to our sport. BTW, I also want to thank you for not wasting my time and my processor's time with cute little animated shuttlecocks dancing the macarena or zooming banners that blink on and off and say things like "Badminton Rules!" If I ever saw a shuttlecock doing the macarena I'd probably check into rehab, and I already have a copy of the IBF rules in my gym bag. )
I was told to visit this site by one of my badminton fans. Since then I am addicted to checking this site as often as I check my emails.
I was introduced to BC a year ago by a friend of mine who used to play badminton very often, since then i would come here everyday to read up and expand my knowledge. and i hafta say it really did help a lot.. thanx guys... Dai10k3n
Yahoo!... was searching for more badminton sites (other than WB.net) the day after Hendrawan won the WC. Actually I knew of BC much earlier, but didn't discover the GEM in it - the forum. =) Even though I don't contribute (cos I've nothing to), I come here at least twice a day. =P more fixed than the number of meals I take.
I was very very actively reading all the reviews until i saw the forum one fine day! But then what led to reading the B.central was GOOGLE!
I can't remember where I found out about this forum from either but I too got totally hacked off with the puerile, meaningless Kevin Han postings on the worldbadminton.net forum. This by contrast is an adult, extremely knowledgeable and very friendly community
I was another badmintonforum..(north west?) and somebody put up a question on why their racquet looked so wierd after restring in Pittsburgh. I managed to diagnose the problem and help that guy fix it(all via internet). A few months later, that guy created badmintoncentral whilst under the guise of doing a PhD! Luckily he told me about it.
Ahh, i see now why this guy then move to sunnyvale, calif. because they have better stringers over there than in pittsburgh. That guy is just too sneaky.
Just out of curiosity, how long now have all of you been with Badminton Central? Who's been here the longest etc.
