im 14 and i play regurlarly and i find im pretty good at shot playing but when it comes to footwork im absolutely terrible got any advice?
Hi Pugsley, Footwork is most important for Single Player. Must do the footwork training and shadow badminton. Regards, Yadi
well all i can say about this is to get a coach to tell you how to do the correct footwork pattern then go away and practise at home practise it during social games and if you have 1-1 coaching spend 10-15mins ironing out any kinks with and just grooving it inot your game remember nothing happens over night with badminton so you must be prepared to practise, practise, practise
im 14 and i play regurlarly and i find im pretty good at shot playing but when it comes to footwork im absolutely terrible got any advice? just try doing some side to side footwork and 4 corner drops.
Try going to 6 different parts on the court. e.g 2 front corners, 2 sides and 2 back corners, using correct footwork. which is a kind of side step, always leading with your right foot ( if right handed), with your toes pointing toward what ever direction your going except when at the back. thats just a basic guide, google it for more detail.
aside from doing on court training, you can also try skipping rope, my father in-law adviced me that, after a month, i realized i'm able to go move faster with the right steps.
Hi baihaki as! where in jakarta do you play? i went there to visit my wife for 6 months and i played in kebon jeruk, jakarta barat. I also want to ask which brand is better in terms of quality HART or ASTEC, i have been looking for astec magic power 2 or 3 but no luck still, i settled for a Hart infinite nanoflex 81, is it good? can it handle 28lbs.
i play in depok at university indonesia, i think more famous astec now, i don't know about hart but i think astec can hadle it to 31lbs
Hmmm footwork all u have to do is just keep practicing but pls b sure practice right makes perfect is really lots of hard work
yeah..only way to improve footwork mate is by doing it... but, if you wanna get fast, make it as close as you can to game situation, e.g. some times move back slower, do a smashing action then move very quickly to the front, just so it represents rallies, and what you would expect in a game situation
bro, i suggest that you do the basic footwork drills. those are: V-Front, V-Back,Side - to - Side and Front - Back patterns. master the Basics and your one step ahead to improving your game. I love Badminton because I love Badminton!
Watch the Singles' games again and again. You need to focus only one player's footwork through the rally. It will really help in your practice.
If you have a good coach get him to teach you the correct footwork placements and such. If you dont then start watching videos and see exactly how to do it. Then proceed to train in the above system. It is most effective to do what i call sets. 1 set is equal to a full rounding of all 6 points of the court. Begin at the back of the court on any side. Then follow numbers. The net corners are number 1 and 2. The mid side sections are 3 and 4 and the back 2 corners are 5 and 6. After you move to each number play a full on proper shot whether your being feeded or not. Then make sure you always return to the centre of the court or the recovery spot before moving to the next number. This is 1 full set. Do 6 Lots of 5 Sets. So run through this around the court 5 times, have a break, then commence it again until youv completed the full circuit 6 times all up. Over time you will become fitter physically and youl find moving around the court much more simpler. Then you can increase to more sets and more lots!!!
