although your ratings are relative and your own personal preference,
I have a hard time understanding a 7.25 overall rating for RSL overgrip when compared to a 6.5 overall for the Prince Duratred.
Why?
a) 3 ratings of 7 and 3 ratings of 8 for the Prince
b) 5 ratings of 7 and 1 rating of 8 (on initial feel too!) for the RSL.
at least give it a 7
! as you can tell...i like the prince duratred grip.

The overall ratings are separate from the individual ratings. The difference (between the overall ratings) is the intangibles. I feel the RSL is just better overall than the DuraTred.

Again, this is all still a work in progress and I was reluctant to post it but quite a few asked me to do so regardless of the status.
So, stay tuned.

thanks for the prompt reply and explanation...You are VERY THOROUGH.
This is a pretty comprehensive table...much appreciated for taking your time to tackle this large issue concerning overgrips.

How do you get the overall mark?I don't understand why you give high marks to some grips in each category, but the overall mark comes out to be quite low, eg LaserFibre TourFit. Shouldn't the overall rating be an average of the individual ratings?
Apart from this detail which I don't quite understand, the table is very comprehensive and detailed, its very useful
PS change your name back!

No, it's not an average. The overall rating includes intangibles.

Sorry Sir, I will not do a replacement grip review because I don't use them. I will say this, in general, replacement grips are almost always better feeling than overgrips. They are certainly much more durable.

Another one to try is prince Deraperf, which I find to be the best of all the Prince overgrips. Only two problems - they don't last that long compared to others and it's damned hard to find in my parts anymore.
