Hello. I've been playing for a while now. About over a year. But. I'm still not overly confident on the rule where the bird hits the net and carries over ? On both serve and rallies. Any help please ? Also any ideas on where I can view some Badminton clips online ? Many thanks. Davie.
any time the shuttle hit the tape and roll over are valid shots. What make it winning a rally point is where the shuttle land. If rollover shuttles land in or touch the boundary line, they are valid shot.
On serve, the shuttle can hit the net, but it has to land inside the receivers service court to be legal. (hitting the net on serve is not a "let" like it is in tennis
what if it hits the tape, rolls over, and as it tumbles down the side of the net, one of the feathers, or part of the skirt catches the edge of the net ever so slightly and unoticably, causing it to fall back onto your own side?
it can hit the net and make a few dances up and down the net, as long as it falls back to your own side eventually, then you lose the rally.
Chickenpoodle means the shuttle has rolled over the net, tumbles down your opposite side, but for some reason, maybe wind blowing,When the shuttle lands it lands back your own side. I also want to know.
Heres a good situation, last night I saw someone tumble a drop back and during the tumbling, the shuttle was stuck on top of the net. The net was stuck between the shuttle's feathers. Is this a let or does the player that hit the drop lose the rally? Thanks.
Golly. This can go on for ever. If the birdie is served. Hits the net tape. Carries over but does not land in the opponants serving area. What happens now ? Is the inning over for the server in question ? Or can the serve be re-taken ? Also what is this called when it happens ? Thankyou.
It's a let: 14.1 ‘Let’ shall be called by the umpire, or by a player (if there is no umpire), to halt play if: 14.1.3 a shuttle is caught on the net and remains suspended on top or, after passing over the net, is caught in the net, except on service; On service, it is a fault: It is a ‘fault’: 13.8 if, on service, the shuttle is caught on the net and remains suspended on top or, on service, after passing over the net is caught in the net.
