Hey. I was reading about the new yonex rackets (nanospeeds) and they indeed have the Musclepower arches. My question is how come Yonex did not include the Musclepower arches with their AT800's? It would generate more power, would it not?
The answer is simply coz they put in something even better IMHO........ a sheet / coating of titanium which gives the racquet the following properties * Higher density avoiding pull through damage at racket head. * Allows higher tension stringing potential for a light racket compare to before. * Shifts weight to the top. * gives a light racket more leverage (power) than b4 The Borneon BaddyNut
All that may be true but the AT rackets are definitely not as durable as MP rackets based on my experience anyhow.
Which MP???????? and durability in terms of resistance to clashing???? or stringing high tension?? The Borneon BaddyNut
I find all my AT's were much more durable than all my MP's. All strung around the same tension(varies from 27-30lbs), i only broke on clashes though (MP's only ).
I'm actually comparing the MP99, MP100 vs. the AT800-OF. I meant all of the above characteristics you mentioned. I've hit the other MPs and ATs but didn't clash or put much wear and tear on them.
Hehehehe....... I was pulling your leg... yes.... MP99 is a very nice racket. I find it quite durable racket.... but I would say an MP99 is defo built heavier than a light (hollow???) 4U AT700...... which does not make a fair comparison on the AT 'technology'. cheers The Borneon BaddyNut
i don't think its more durable for at series given the same amount of weight, the strip takes away more portion of it, while it might be true that it can sustain high tension(not true either, i think yonex only want to rise the bar up higher since every other companies are stating at least 28lbs anyways the shaft is softer as well, although it gives more whip, but it also lowers the stiffness, which might not be preferred by others and more importantly, if at is given mp no new comers will be getting mp series, they need to save something special(U-ti too) for the mp to attract customers mp is more about maintaining tension, isn't it?
durable maybe, but my mp99 chips way too easily...even on mishits! or did i just swing too powerfully? my AT500 fares better especially in clashes
haha...i wish! my AT500 chips but seems very superficial while when my mp99 chips, it goes down straight to the bone...as they say...
100% agree!!! I love mp99 but it chips way too easy! I think its unfair to compare MP vs AT because it I really think it depends on which model. For me, mp99 is really the worst for paint chipping.
BACK TO THE ORIGINAL TOPIC Well, my at800 de's have little black musclepower bumps at the bottom (4 in total), so yes, there is somewhat of muscle power arches there. The only reason that I can think of that the huge arches aren't included is because they were not quite useful in the first place. Jsut another marketing gimmik .
