i have switched to towel grip for weeks and still couldn't get the right feel for it. the grip seems to be slippery as compare to the rubber grip. was trying to find the yonex grip powder but couldn't find any around my area (badminton is not so popular in germany, i have to buy in malaysia everytime i return).

can someone tell me if there is any alternative to the original yonex grip powder? is flour working?

well, he's asking for what he can get in germany here.... I think the powder used for weight lefting can be used for towel grips, and it should be easier to find in germany. Hope it helps :)

    DO NOT USE FLOUR!!!!!
It is the worst thing to use! it cakes easily and it give you club hnad when you cook! i can only imagine how it would ruin a towel grip! Towel Grips ARE slipperier than polyurethane or rubber grips, but lot of people like the slipperyness. I like it cause it keeps my hand loose and i think it's got better touch. If you want to use something to replace grip power, then use talcum powder or baby powder. chalk should work too. This probably won't help it be less slippery but that's cause towels are like that. It's slippery and puffy and comfy and don't last long and somehow are rough on your hands, but they are awesome for some weird reason! I love em but can't find cheap good ones.

does it work for towel grips?
will my ahnd get smelly and stickey? or just dry (and smelly)?

how do you sue it? just "grab" it, or put your hand in?

BTW, if i (finally) get my yy grip powder..does it make teh grip "soft" liek ti was at teh start, or just increase the hardening process?

btw, when i have a used/sweaty grip on my raquet, i find that i can "comb" the hair to 'spikes' or 'smooth' what would be best (i know: a new one..but hé)

I use the Yonex grip powder myself, it is very good when the towel grip is wet, when u put it on it will make the grip feel dry, but it does makes towel grip harder and worn out faster though.

You can try APACS grip powder. It works as well as the Karakal or Yonex Grip powder. In terms of these 3 brands , i still prefer the Yonex's grip powder.

    chekced the pharmacy today.
    they don't have magnesiumcarbonate....

so can anybody tell me what it says on the back of a grip-powder-flasc?

    or:
-what is the basis (molecular) formula of Talc?
-can substances like:, MagnesiumOxide. MGO(s) or other any other substances work for this purpose (drying up grip. preferably white powder, not causing heat in friction)

I'd like to know... because I've tried towels twice and didn't think they were for me, but what exactly does this powder do for you?

Does it make it less slippery? Or what?

afaik it basically absorbes all the moisture on your hand/grip and make it dry again, so less slippery.
That exactly why baby-talcum doesn't work (foudn out the hard way) since it has an oil-based moisturizing ingredient...

So would Chalk (schoolbord-chalk ie)help? I can grind it down at school...
