Hey there, im 17, I play badminton almost week day in my high school gym class, about 30 full mins of play plus 2~4 hours of more badminton during open gym days. Lately I have been feeling a pain in my back, not the center though , a pain right about where the right shoulder blade is. Does anyone or has anyone felt this type of pain before? Its weird because i have not felt any shoulder pain just pain in my upper right back area.
I think you should not take this pain lightly. When I was 17, I was indestructible, as was just about every other Badder here. If you're 17 and have pain, something is definitely not right. Something has to be changed or amended or maybe rest is all you need. Like I said before, best to get a Specialist to diagnose, as they will know best and in the mean time, take it easy.
are you sure you are notplaying too much. Overworking yourself even if you enjoy it a lot can lead to stuff like this.
I'm fortunate to have found a great doctor I hurt my back playing badminton a few months ago so I went to an acupuncturist that my badminton coach (Ruddy Soehartono) had recommended many times for treatment. It was really amazing that my back pain was completely gone after just a couple of visits to this doctor, who combines acupuncture, acupressure massage, and Chinese herbal medicine to treat a variety of diseases and injuries. Two nights ago I slipped on court due to moisture from the rain and pulled some thigh muscles near the groin (I kind of did a big split when I slipped on the floor), which was very painful – I could hardly walk afterwards. Again, doctor Wang helped me a great deal after just a couple of visits (I even played badminton today). Doctor Wang is not only an extremely competent and accomplished doctor; he is also very nice and will not push his patients for additional unnecessary treatments. I highly recommend this doctor to anyone who is fortunate enough to live in the San Francisco Bay Area. Here is his contact information: /... info cut by moderator, PM user for contact details .../
No, I pulled the thigh muscles near the groin. Dr. Wang applied acupressure massages on the thighs to alleviate the pain and strain. As I said before, they are almost as good as new after just a couple of treatments.
